What games are you looking forward to most?

I'm not looking forward to too many games, but I rarely do these days. Hype is a game killer. Final Fantasy XV exceeded my expectations due to me not hyping the game up all these years.

I look forward to trying out Yakuza 0 because I have wanted to get into that series for some time now. Sniper Elite 4 will get a discounted purchase for me due to their shitty launch on PS4 with too many damn bugs. I went through some big list I found and added some comments for clarity. You think nothing is coming out until you start combing through the year ahead and then you have twenty games down. :)

Not looking forward to Torment after Wasteland 2 really, but I will get it eventually. I don't feel to strongly about many of these. The Switch has me interested the most at the moment despite the typical Nintendo retardedness.

Persona 5 – YES!
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition - has Duke Nukem in it so I might pick it up used one day.
Super Bomberman R - color me interested.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - instant buy on Wii U since Switch will leave me too short on dough.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands - might be interesting but it is too early to tell.
Nier: Automata - I want to play the first one first.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole - if it is as good as the last one it will surely be another hit in my book.
Friday the 13th: The Game - might make for a good Deathmatch drunk game.
Tekken 7 - I might get it to beat up my cousin when he comes over.
Disaea 5 Complete (Switch)
Injustice 2
Final Fantasy 14: Stormblood - might make me buy the whole game. It connects the games together in ways that tickle my fan theory button.
Cuphead - too pretty to skip.
Valkyria Revolution
Yakuza Kiwami
Berserk
Super Mario Odyssey
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
Ace Combat 7 -l ooks good enough to get me back into the genre.
Sea of Thieves - Pirate stuff?
Detroit: Become Human - I like games like this. If they are too simple I get them at Redbox.
Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game - Pleasebegoodpleasebegoodpleasebegood.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Gonna make me get the last one aren't you?
Fire Emblem Warriors
Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers - depends on the upgrades.
Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom - the last one was so beautiful and oldschool I am surprised I put it down. The story was too juvenile/trope ridden though.
Full Throttle Remastered
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series - on my watch list.
State of Decay 2 - get it on PC for the mods.
Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age - INSTANT BUY! I never beat the original due to it being on the PS2 at a weird time, so I am hyped for this one.
Red Dead Redemption 2 - I look forward to this wild west poker simulator. I hope they trim back the story mechanics and add more to the poker game. /s
Seasons of Heaven - I'll get it to play with the wife I think.
The Last of Us Part 2 - Maybe.
God of War - Norse must be done justice.
Spider-Man game from Insomniac - Really? Damn.
Metal Gear Survive - on here for me to point and laugh at.
Fallout 4 VR - read above.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance - I like what I see, but I can't tell yet.
Dragon Quest 11 - might make me get into the series.

There's some obvious KS titles... T:TON, Battletech, Bard's Tale.

And then there's Cyberpunk 2077, though I have a hunch that it ends up only as some sort of a "The Witcher 2077", earning its nickname like Fallout 3 did, which isn't a very good thing nor aspiring anticipation.

Not much more to look forward to at the moment.

Not to get into details and spoilers, but TW3 was a game largely contained in the lore and setting of the books, so CDPR was somewhat limited in their creative decisions and had to rely on existing content. As great as that game was, I think probably the best content they made for it was one that wasn't related to anything from books or previous games and was completely original (i.e. Hearts of Stone expansion).

With 2077 I think they can go much further than they ever could with TW, simply because their hands aren't tied at all. Sure, gameplay-wise it will probably have some similarities to TW (that's debatable tho), but when it comes to story and setting I really think that if they let themselves go wild and creative, we will get a true masterpiece.

Well, "Maximum Mike" is on board, unlike Fallout 3 and Bethesda's "I'm a big boy now!" attitude, so odds that CDPR will make a worthy game are much higher with original P&P game developer as supervisor.

Though I still don't like this shady "cinematic feel" news.

Wasteland 3 and the Van Buren remake.

The former due to InXile's amazing work with Wasteland 2 and the latter due to there being no other remake of Van Buren.

Remake of Van Buren? More of a revival seeing how it never came to be, and I doubt it will be able to be anywhere near close to fallout lorewise without Bethesda waking up their Lawyer swarm.

Ehhhh, there's a caveat there that you're probably not aware of. Mike Pondsmith is not as well known as Steve Jackson or Gary Gygax but he's up there as one of THE influential game developers of the 80s and 90s. Back when tabletop roleplaying actually mattered. A lot of what people take for granted about cyberpunk gaming comes from him. Night City is every bit as, if not more so, detailed than the work of Sapkowski and he's actually working with the developers in making the setting. Unlike, well, Sapkowski.

He's also declared the world canon to his tabletop setting and incorporating as much lore from it as possible. I liked when he described how excited he was about them wanting to make a Cyberpunk 2020 game but suspected they just wanted the name--until they started talking about their campaign from the mid-90s.

:)

Apparently according to the project lead it's near completion and Bethesda is somehow alright with their project

I knew some details of it, though I've never actually played PnP.
AFAIK however, Cyberpunk 2077 won't follow a character who has a very detailed backstory and will have a liberty of adding and exploring much more stuff than they could ever have done with TW. The fact that Mike works with them would probably reinforce this as it would allow them more open approach while they stay in line with the original vision, something they couldn't really do with TW.

Honestly, I hope they don't go "blank slate" protagonist but define a male protagonist and a female protagonist with a backstory and history.

Story is much stronger that way.

On WRPGs? no.

For me, I want the experience of an adult RPG with adult writing for adults. Basically, the idea of being a Deckard or Jensen sort of character who has a past in Night City and people he knows. People we can interact with and have relationships with that have the weight of history behind them. I want to go full immersion here rather than the shallowness of some guy who is everybody so he can't be anyone more than nobody.

I loved being the Dragonborn but they never had a relationship like Geralt's with Triss and Ciri.

Writing for adults? Then why do you like Fallout 3 and why are you giving examples of things written for teenagers and using the word "Immersion"? No idea what "Adult!" has to do with an RPG benefitting from allowing the player to define their own character and not forcing crappy characters upon them...

Fallout 3 and Skyrim are games I genuinely love but they're not the ONLY games I love.

My ideal Cyberpunk 2077 would be best described if they could do Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines L.A. crossed with Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Detroit. Only instead of vampires, they're all sexy cyborgs and corporate executives.

Noir sidequests about drugs, sex, and realistic motivations.

And characters like Veronica, Boone, Triss, and Ciri.

Who are the crappy characters, For my information?

Nothing really. I don't watch game trailers anymore so I avoid hype.

Honestly if I see a game I like the look of and it ain't too expensive I'll grab it.

Honestly, I'm not sure there is one. Whatever expansion comes for Elite after Horizons, definitely. Horizons is only halfway finished though, and I don't think they'll announce a new expansion until Horizons is at least mostly released.

Cyberpunk 2077 definitely looks interesting, but not much about it has been released yet.

There's not much that's on my radar for the time being. In many cases, I have games that I will likely still be playing years from now.

For me there actual a few I am looking forward however most I'm looking forward are not anywhere near the start of the year so I think the games will get better as the year progresses.

Red dead 2
BF1 DLC
State of decay 2 (brought the frist one)

So yeah I guess not too much I mean I'd imagine some stuff we get realesed that not yet announed maybe a beth game but I dunno. I think its really to early in the year to make any decision.

I've decided to also spend some money in tablet games and i think they will get me bust etc. I will be getting roller coaster tycoon and also bully anniversary addition.
