What games are you looking forward to most?

With most triple-A games being sub-par or average, I've learnt to not bother getting anything that may exceed expectations since nothing ever will (save for the rare game or two).

So I take the acceptable ones when I can, even if the game could be way better (and even then, I don't get as many games these days - the only modern game I've gotten this year is Persona 5 - one of those rare games).

;(

I cri.

A Dragon Ball 2D fighter developed by Arc Systems. Color me interested.

Yes

To much for your computer

So original.

I actually got a new computer sometime before New Year, and it's a pretty good machine. Not the best thing on the market, but very, very good.
As for KCD, since it's CryEngine 3, I'll have no problem running it. I just hope it is well optimized in any case.

It really looks fantastic. I just hope we'll be able to play it with audio in Czech and subtitles in English.

I think I'm ready for the new Spider-Man game. Going back to what made Spider-Man 2 (the game) so great, combat mechanics similar to that of the Arkham series, and it's being developed by Insomniac! People were complaining about the QTEs but the cinematics for them look phenomenal (kinda the point of most good QTEs).

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is getting closer. Looks like they cut out quite a few features, but the recent bits I've seen still look pretty nice.
I think it was clear from the beginning that they were too ambitious, but it does look like they did a pretty good job considering they're not the biggest company with a humongous budget.
Anyone else still looking forward to it?

Also looking to play Kingdom Come, but I'll wait few weeks for patches, as I'm sure it will have problems at launch.

Mount&Blade Bannerlord doesn't have release date, but I'll wait. Warband is one of my favourite games.

Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones could come out at the end of 2018. After playing demo I can say that I'll have a lot of fun with it. Beautiful artstyle and soundtrack combined with descriptions taken straight out of Lovecraft's imagination.

No Truce with the Furies comes out this year, so I'll definitely get it, as it's really something original when compared to the market.

I really got interested in Need to Know. It's kinda similar to Papers, please but you work as an investigator using database with people's bills, search history, messages etc. to track and prevent crimes (you can also use it to blackmail people, steal bank accounts etc.)

Also this year there'll be propably another Cube Escape/ Rusty Lake game, so I'll definitely pick them up.

Does anyone here know if there are any interesting science fiction FPS games, action-adventures, or RPGs coming out this year?

I have been going through various "upcoming games" lists of 2018 but I have the feeling that they are very incomplete.

BTW, is it true that Bethesda is planning to reveal a new big inhouse developed title this year? Not that I care but people on RPG Codex were talking about such rumors.

I assume that if true it will probably be a TES title. (not that I want another inhouse Fallout game)

I recommend looking up Griftlands by Klei. It's science- fiction RPG with turn based combat that focuses on negotiations. You play as a mercenary that tries to make a name for himself or at least earn some money.
But there's really big bummer for me- only some part of the game will be set in stone, while the rest will be RNG.

Waiting for a few patches sounds like a good idea with kingdom come. However I am dying to get into it. I think you'll just have to be careful and save alot. Will probably ignore the main story line in it though. I hope characters don't get to overpowered but I think with the combat system that will be quite hard to do.

I can't even think of any games other than kingdom come now. I guess maybe like DLC for battlefield one !? That looks pretty nice but for actual games only kingdom for me. Will be a gaming February.

Just noticed but I think I have a mega boner for kingdom come

The interesting part is, that quests will go on without you. If someone tells you to rescue some NPC, they might die if you take your sweet time wandering off in the wilderness ala Skyrim for a couple of months. That actually sounds pretty interesting.

What disturbs me a little though, is the developers decision to not include any option for third person view. I am not necessarily talking about the combat here, which proably works best in first person which is alright. But I really like to 'see' my character from a third person pespective now and then.

Me too I found it pretty weird considering the fact your a specific character and can't edit your face or anything. You can see you self in 3rd person but only in menu screen I believe. Also it seems there will be cutseens in 3rd person although that seems weird

Like others have stated I too am excited for kingdom come deliverence as well. I’ll pick it up for the ps4 so I won't have spec issues.

Kingdom Come really sounds like an immersive sim.
I hope it will be more like medieval Deus Ex than medieval Mass Effect.
