What was the Funniest Argument You've had with a Bethesda Apologist?

Bethesda fanboy bingo.
Speaking of bingo:

I recall an argument a friend and I had leading up to Fallout 4's release, I said I wasn't looking forward to it because of Skyrim's weak writing and that the graphics and guns looked bad. He told me it was going to be great because it had a cover system (which turned out to be one of the must insufferable 'features' of the game) and that I was simply critiquing the game to uphold some false sense of superiority. I recall having a similar argument over DA: Inquisition as well. Funny because at the time we had both only played FO3 and NV and always said 3 was the better one because of 'muh atmosphere' or something like that. So I've made plenty shitty arguments myself, probably because I was 12 when I played Fallout 3.

TFW you realize you've been defending Bethesda using some of the stuff on the Bethesdrone bingo card.

Isn't the term apologist quite unapropriate ? I don't recall any of them making any kind of apology...
Apologist actually means someone who argues to defend or justify some policy or institution.
Although it would be fun if some people started apologizing for whatever reasons.

Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I am sorry that I pre-ordered Fallout 4.

I don't get the graphical counter-arguments in that picture.

None of us really complain about the graphics, considering Fallout 1-2 used sprites of all things with questionable quality here and there (I never liked how blurry the deathclaw sprites were, but I LOVED the gecko animations).

I guess the argument is that 'if Fallout 3-4 are fucking terrible in quality everywhere else, it better fucking have good graphics'? Although of course, they look like ass compared to peers.

Well, I swore to stay away from these arguments but I got into one recently on Youtube due to how much the person was using speculation and 4's butchered lore to justify why Kid in the Fridge worked:

"there's no way he could survive that long without food and water" fallout 4 must be the first fallout game you have ever played, because ANY fallout vet would know that ghouls do not need to eat it drink to survive. they are immortal unless killed by am external force.

EDIT: I won't bore you with the details but thankfully he stopped replying after some time.

If I ever finally off myself, I'm going to leave this screenshot instead of a suicide note:

I took a peek. Aside from a few people, most of them honestly think that there was no Thieves Guild in Fallout... Even when a quick Google search says otherwise.
Why are you expecting Bethesda fanboys to have enough basic intelligence and common sense to use google?

One thing I hear a lot is "You can't compare the newer games to the classic games because they are a completely different genre"(Often to dismiss you when you raise how untrue 3 and 4 are to 1 and 2)

This argument annoys the fuck outta me because

A. They are still primarily RPGs. Just because the newer games have a first person perspective doesn't change that. If the fundamental genre is still the same, perspective doesn't matter, we can still compare and contrast what they did well and what they did poorly with earlier examples.

B. If hypothetically the series had changed so rapidly we couldn't compare it to the older games(Which it hasn't), that's an issue in and of itself. That would mean the series had been so twisted to fit popular ideals of games that it lost everything that made it what it was.

To be fair, for most bethesda fans "Thieves Guild" means something pretty different of what you could find in Fo1, which is already quite hidden in the first place.

This is basically my "Stupid shit people said on Reddit" thread now.

People make me want to kill myself sometimes:

When are kids going to understand that Fallout 3 was not even remotely dark and gloomy, and New Vegas beat it by a square mile in that contest.

When they realize that ghouls killing emotionless NPCs is equivalent to Duke Nukem killing and pissing on a boss.
