Why would NMA make such a big deal out of that? Even if it WOULD be announced, the only company holding rights to the MMO is IPLY and I doubt you can still believe in a good postapocalyptic MMORPG from them...

They are busy with something else

I simply asked a rhetorical and only in jest "Eh, what?" since you don't see people dreaming of FOOL too often here.

I misunderstood your "Eh, what?", as in "Why would that be obvious" or whatever. I have no opinion about FOOL, so I don't care.

Could IPLY give up their right to get money from Fallout sales and allow it to be released as freeware (still close source)?


But then again, would that be worth so much noise? I mean, we've all got our Fallouts (some more than one copy)...
 
it's the (soon to be annual) BN in bikini carwash fundraiser to pay NMA's bills.
 
Maybe Bethesda will reveal that Fallout3 is the biggest joke in gaming history and then will show the actual game. :D

But I guess, it is only about celebrating the birth of the best RPG ever made, what is good enough to celebrate =)
 
Well, let's see, it won't be anything released from Bethesda... I highly doubt anything from Interplay, seeing as they're basically a bankrupt company waiting to die (Seriously, they're only alive since they sold the Fallout license, and since they'll never get the financial backing to make a MMO for Fallout, they're going to lose a lot of stuff there.).

Counting out both of those companies, I highly doubt that the source code for either Fallout 1 or 2 is being released. Perhaps it is something from Obsidian, probably Van Buren assets of some type. Perhaps a playable build.

I was thinking larger. Like instead of a tech demo, the actual game build, if they got that far.
 
I'm hoping for the van buren source code, by the same mysterious benevolent soul that released the tech demo :) .

Or at least some of it's assets, although that wouldn't be as "big" as this intriguing announcement seems to be. They are spread all over right? (Feargus has some, Obsidian has some, etc).

Man you got me intrigued and hopefull . Hope I will not be disapointed :(
