Putting "the RPG" in quotation marks like that is suspicious. The only one not potentially being done by BGS is the one I picked.

No, no, it just means a new Fallout game, any Fallout game, which is actually an RPG, instead of "a shooter with RPG elements" etc.

You don't really believe that Bethesda would make a game called "Vault Sexteen". You should vote for it! :wiggle:

By the way, just to clarify, Fallout 77 is just the sequel to 76, it's not a fancy new Fallout RPG that takes place in 2077. :) Maybe I should add that to the list as well.

Where is "Fallout 3: Van Buren: as Black Isle had intended it on a modern engine, with a tool kit to make your own campaigns" (with no changes to incorporate Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas)?

I am not so sure a new Fallout by Tim Cain would be anything like the original game. He has told during an interview that he did like Fallout 3 (and Fallout 4?).
He may have started the series but I feel others really continued on it.

I´m ready for a Fallout card game, like Yugioh.

Imagine the boss monsters. Master for SM, Frank for Enclave, Lanius for CL, Liberty Prime for BoS.....

But who is going to make it? Interplay? Black Isle? Both dead. But maybe you have an idea as a ghost. :D Anyway, I've added it to the list.

I would like Newer Vegas's story to be modeled by the the choices you made in New Vegas.
I'm not a developer but I assume that crafting four different versions of the game would be very difficult. Maybe if it was like in the Witcher 3, where it's a question of secondary characters it could work.

As much as I like the idea of getting Van Buren as Fallout 3, I'd rather them do something else for Fallout 3.

The way I like to consider Fallout is 1 -> 2 -> New Vegas. Van Buren and New Vegas would contradict a lot with each other. Just move on to something else for a new Fallout 3. It could be like New Vegas but I'd prefer it to play more like 1 or 2. I'm not picky, I just want it to be good either way. Keep 1, 2, and NV in continuity and feel free to ignore all the other stuff.

I get you but there was stuff in it that I really liked such as a female counterpart to Caesar's Legion, ODYSSEUS, Limit 115/The New Plague, Dog Town, the Nursery, The Reservation and its Born Ghouls, Burnham Springs, and of course Dr Presper and his NCR goons and the player going into space to stop Presper from firing the missiles of BOMB001 and causing a second nuclear holocaust. (Ulysses felt a little weaker in comparison)

I know wishing for Van Buren/Fallout 3 is just a pipe dream but I would have so much wanted to see it. It would have been a proper closure to the original series if it had been made completely as planned.

Personally I would like to see my own Fallout Texas (barely any connection to the previous Fallouts, only hints here and there) with new locations, factions etc. and I have been thinking a lot about a Fallout set in Michigan, Detroit experiencing a second economic boom when it became a lead manufacturer of fusion powered cars and military equipment such as Power Armor and energy weapons. This would also be a place from which the invasion and annexation of Canada was launched.

And otherwise it could also be set in Denver, now a major prospector boom town.

Yeah I'd still really like Van Buren but I have a pretty strong love for New Vegas and it would just upset me to see it conflict so much with Van Buren.

Honestly, if Bethesda keeps messing up like they have with 76, maybe there's hope? Somewhere? A sliver more than there was before? At least if their next two games bomb like this.

And I'd love to see Fallout done right but not have any strong connections to 1, 2, VB, or NV. I'm down for anything. Fallout in Canada or midwest or east coast. Just do it justice, please. I feel like anything near Mexico would be better fit to tie in with the already established games.

I don't really see Van Buren and New Vegas conflicting too much. Of course there's overlap with reused/recycled ideas like Arcade Gannon or Ulysses/Presper and the nukes, but I think a lot of stuff can be revised and result in a smooth narrative from FO1->FO2-VB->NV, especially since NV acknowledges so much of the background material that went into the world of VB. Thus VB would be the title I'd like to see the most, as it's the only one with any concrete details on this list (the rest are just memes.)

The runner up is Tim Cain's Fallout, I'm dying to learn more about it.

Am I brainfarting or just stupid? Who is Presper in New Vegas? Is it Ulysses? Am I missing something?

Also, they'd contradict with the Hanged Man and the Burned Man essentially both being Joshua Graham. Also, the fate of all the tribes in New Vegas might not really line up with the last known plans we have for Van Buren. I'd have to sit down and look at all that but I feel like there's so much stuff reused in certain ways that New Vegas wouldn't make sense to happen after VB. Like why is the NCR not mentioning the other settlements a bit further East that they were previously at? Also Hoover Dam itself was an entirely different idea for VB.

For them to work together VB would have to be altered a lot in my opinion.

I realize that what I wrote looks a little unclear. I meant to compare Ulysses in New Vegas to Presper in Van Buren, because they have superficial similarities and end goals (both of them defected from one of the main factions, both of them aim to hit the reset button on the world again, although Ulysses less so.)

Van Buren could not take place before Fallout New Vegas, at best some parts could take place after it but as Squadcar mentioned; to many elements of Van Buren have already been reused in Van Buren to the point that it would feel a repeat.

The Nursery = Vault 22 to a degree (but weaker)
Boulder Dome = Big MT (pre war research center + think tank) plus Sierra Madre (a killing cloud surrounds the place)
Bunker Maxson = Hidden Valley
Bloomfield Spaceport = REPCONN rocket factory
The Children of the Wasteland = The Bright Brotherhood though it is not anti human and does not want to use humans to create born ghouls or start firing dirty bombs or even real nukes at human settlements to drive humans away. They just want a place for themselves.

Salt Lake City/Jericho was destroyed by the White Legs. (haha, I called them White Feet first)
The Twin Mothers and the Hangdogs tribes were absorbed by Caesar's Legion.

The only materials I see that could be used as Limit 115, ODYSSEUS (but it would have to be renamed to avoid the confusion with Ulysseus), Tibbet's facility, Dog Town (to a degree), Fort Abandon (was mentioned in Fallout New Vegas), the Daughters of Hecate, the Grand Canyon, The Reservation, and BOMB001, but it would still require a whole lot of new material to fill in the holes.

So no, Van Buren would not work with Fallout New Vegas being "Fallout 3" (sequel to Fallout 1 and 2)

I really like New Vegas but if I have to choose I would rather have Van Buren.

Bit tough to choose. Never know what some random but decent dev might bring to the game as I'm a type that tends to stick to things I'm familiar with. Newer Vegas seems interesting as I have played FO:NV but as I am a heavy power armor user and hater of armor clippings and crap animations. That game along with its bugs, crashes and freezes made me not enjoy FO:NV as much as I did the first two Fallout games. Since Van Buren was supposed to be the real deal when it comes to Fallout 3.. I'm gonna go with that choice, especially after seeing how much Bethesda has fucked with the lore from time and time again making contradictions of its own contradictions and retcons of its own retcons. Fuck bethesda for that and their attempts at lore for Fallout. I've went back to consider original Fallout 1 and 2 lore and story canon along with parts from New Vegas because of elements from Van Buren there.

Makes me sick that I used to try to make sense of FO3 and FO4 story because the more you try to make sense of it all, the more it all makes even less sense than ever before.

That's fair but I appreciate New Vegas on a lot of levels. I'd have to be the opposite at this point and some of it is I see how New Vegas turned out and I don't actually know what the end product of VB would have been. So I have that skepticism too. I wish VB was just released as Fallout 3 initially and then who knows where we might be now? But good post. Thanks for the extra clarity on what I was saying.

I can't see that another fallout will interest me as long as Bethesda has the rights. Now that Microsoft owns Obsidian and inXile I'd like to see them buying the franchise and returning it to the original creators.

First of all, it is unlikely that Zenimax Bethesda will sell the Fallout franchise unless it is really bleeding them money.
Second, under Microsoft it would not be any better. They would probably insist that Obsidian or Inxile continue the formula that Bethesda went with when they bought the franchise and various monetary scams would eventually still come into play.

Oh and we would have to buy the games on Microsoft's online service and when it comes to customer service they are not much better than Bethesda Game Studios.
