Who are all you people?

You ... could have said this much earlier. Might have spared Voof from some serious soul searching.

Found this site when I was reading the Falloutlore subreddit. Believe it was Tagaziel who mentioned this place, a mod there.

I knew of this place long time before registering here. I knew that the folks over here really appreciate the original Fallouts so they can't be all bad. Eventually got registered and then got into debates about gun laws etc. with Dammitboy, Sander, etc. that got me a slight ban that I don't have anymore. That's about it.

If you truly want to know who I am, even moreso than I reveal in the stream of consciousness paragraphs I type every once in a while, I can tell you.

I am like, a really really stupid man with a smart brain. I don't know much, but at least I'm always getting a little smarter. Every waking moment is dedicated to self improvement, mentally, physically. Well, that's not entirely true. I've been sliding down a bit in my care for my physical body lately. But that's just me coping, as that improval process itself is as well.

If you want evidence of my capacity for mental transformation, I need only point to my first account and post on nma.

I know, I know, that's why I change.

I think that I've been here for around 14 years (off and on). It's one of the very few places that knows what Fallout is supposed to be ~as opposed to the mutilated thing it's become under Bethesda's "care".

I need some place to vent and most other forums are full of people that'd just dogpile me with awful arguments while they gargle Bethesda's balls.

Really though, I'm lazy when it comes to joining forums, I already had an account here that I used to ask questions about mods or whatever and since I already had one I figured, why not just use it and transfer over here from the Bethesda forums? I wanna rant about Fallout but I don't have the energy to deal with Bethfans. Eventually I'll get bored and I'll move on. I'll probably return whenever I decide to play through the Fallout games again to see what's going on though.

I'm here cause I'm lazy and because I can't stand other places where Fallout is being discussed.

I come here on and off.

This place really hates Bethesda, which is kind of sad since I like both Oblivion and Skyrim. Skyrim in particular, with some mods. Oh, yeah... tasty, tasty mods. For Skyrim, great game.

But other than that this place really understands what was great about Fallout 1 and 2, and I guess that's worth something.

About Fallout 4.... some have already passed judgment... and I reserve it..... until the next month or so, then we'll see eye to eye.

We've seen the trailers, and that's enough to know that no matter how superb FO4 may be as a game, it simply is not indicative of how the series is supposed to be. Many chide that [old guard] Fallout fans cannot be pleased, but those people typically ignore [possibly cannot fathom] the reasons given as to why Bethesda's attempts are so messed up. It's like as if a company had vowed to make the absolute best kale flavored ice cream ~using oranges, cherries, and condensed milk as flavors... You cannot make kale flavored ice cream using that; (and likely not understand why anyone would want to try)... and yet that's akin to what they took upon themselves when they announced FO3. One cannot make a proper Fallout game by copying the Elderscrolls and ignoring ~Fallout.

Arguing the point with Bethesda fans usually feels like the Brawndo argument from Idiocracy; explaining why plants don't like the stuff.

I played Fallout 1 in I think 1999 and fell in love with RPGs before being just a person who liked games of all types and preferred those with an emphasis on story and setting.

In 2001 I got the internet and I came here looking for info on Easter Eggs that I had found and wondered about.

Liked the discussion I saw in the forums so I registered and I've been here ever since.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I only joined the forum today. I have been a long-term player of fallout 3 and NV. I am now sat with anticipation for the latest incarnation to be released (only 9 hours and 50 minutes to go!) I have been haunting this forum as a passive guest for a while, but have decided to become an active participant with the release of Fallout 4 - it's good to meet you all :)
