Almost is still scary. If you've played the originals and liked them, only to also like POS... I... don't know what to say.

Don't buy into the reputation of this site, if anything the only constant here is that everyone likes RPG's and, everyone hates Bethesda.

I can't ignore the thing that's repeated over and over again. I'm constantly reminded of the vile reputation by the consistent hate.

If anything, I come here because I like Fallout, not because I hate Bethesda.

EDIT: When I say "vile reputation", I mean as seen by others, not myself, sorry for not clarifying.

To be honest I don't hate Bethesda.
I think they have some nice open worlds and there are talented people in the Company.
It's just a shame they seem to be run by idiots, because Fallout 4 could have been good.

I just wonder in Tod knows why people like his games. I don't even think he knows.

No, they are idiots.
Unless you count the genius writing of Emil.
Or the way Pete has extensive knowledge of his own game and can give you a detailed response on why certain choices where put in the game.
Or Todd's truthful presence and how he never lies and always exceeds our expectations in his games.
Or even the fact that the games themselves are flawless masterpieces unlike Ubisoft games which are just full of glitches because they aren't polished.

Then yes, they are idiots.
 
I mean hating Bethesda in the sense that they act as corporate puppets, not disliking their games or employees necessarily (unless it's Emil, or, Hines, those guys deserve the hate).

So 3 people make up an entire development team? I don't care who makes games, as long as I enjoy them.

I don't love Bethesda, I just think you can't call people idiots for no reason.

And good for you, you enjoy their games. Guess what? I sometimes do as well, I enjoyed Oblivion and Fallout 3.
Skyrim was just okay.

But Fallout 4 is where the ball really dropped for me.
 
I agree with Millim. I also enjoyed Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim. However I think that Fallout 4 is certainly an all time low.

I mean, it's certainly proved that Bethesda is great at world building. But beyond that? Yes, they did improve the gunplay and the crafting mechanics; but the world lacks interesting content, factions are unengaging and the writing... Oh the writing...

What's the point of developing a nice worldspace with improved mechanics if you sacrifice making the player immerse on that world and wanting to be a part of it?

Yeah, I get you hate Bethesda, but I just don't think calling them idiots can be justified.

I personally look for the best in people, and live by the golden rule, which is "treat others how you want to be treated". How can you call them idiots when you don't know them? What's the point of hating the person when you have no idea who they actually are, besides their publicity?

Behind all the smoke and mirrors, they are real people, and by simply labelling them "idiots", you're generalising.

I'm not defending Bethesda, I'm defending actual people.
 
STOP! This thread isn't about hating on Bethesda or Fallout 4, it's about hating on PoS.
There are already threads about hating on those topics, PoS is feeling left out.
 
Okay whatever, for all I know Todd can cure Cancer, great.

But I know him as someone who makes Role-Playing Games... yet they aren't very good Role--Playing Games.
Instead of using some creativity and imagination, instead of elements taken from previous games when they are set on the other side of the Country.

Anyway, lets give POS some hate.

The game is basically a linear shit fest made to get a quick buck off the series.
The people who were behind the whole thing had even less idea on how to make a Fallout game than Bethesda and considering it came from the Publishers that gave us Superman 64, they had even less idea how to make a game.
It was a lawsuit hell that spelt the end of Interplay and is one of the reasons Fallout is in the position it is in now.
I have the game, I played four hours of it before I decided that the game was shit.

It's a shit game with shit development with a shit understanding of the source material and a shit premise with shit locations and shit characters and shit graphics and shit combat published by a shit company.

The game is just shit.
 
Wait Interplay published Superman 64? Fuck I'm surprised they didn't go out of business sooner.

I'm talking about Titus Software, they bought out Interplay back in 2001 and are pretty much the reason PoS was made.
