Does he actually have any arguments related to the actual gameplay? Or is he just going to complain that a TURN BASED GAME BASED OFF A FUCKING PEN AND PAPER GAME is slow!?
Fuck, I don't want to see him play an ACTUAL GURPS pen and paper game, he'd have a stroke.
uh yeah, SO MANY. so many, in fact, that most ppl can't bother to read through them b/c the many lists of problems that I've posted while going through the game result in very long posts that ppl tend to skip over.
I don't even think I covered how far fetched it is for the US gov to think that spreading the FEV virus is a good idea after only inoculating those at the enclave and navarro (who were actually all dead in my run, so it made no sense at all. nvm the fact that I killed everyone in the first 2 floors of the enclave and then after proceeding to the third level, everyone acted like all was normal and I belonged there).
I'm almost positive that the pres said something along the lines of, "we used your tribesmen as test subjects for the FEV and inoculation," and my only choice of dialogue was, "but you didn't test the inoculation on my tribesmen?" to which the pres replied, "I hardly think that would be necessary." that's extremely poorly written and self-contradictory, sorry. I actually loaded and had the convo again b/c I couldn't believe it was really that bad. even now, I'm not 100% sure. I feel like this must be a false memory. feel free to correct me. even if I'm wrong in that, it was still amid a whole mess of plot holes and nonsense. why would the pres even tell me all of these things? why can I just waltz into his office? they couldn't think of any other way to get this info through to me? it HAD to be a one on one convo with the pres, who, after informing of my intentions to sabotage, let's me go and doesn't say a word to anyone? try to make sense of this: 1. no one's inoculated yet. 2. they plan to spread the virus via jetstreams. 3. they're injecting ppl with the virus. what? it's clearly an airborne virus, is it not? it would already be everywhere, especially since it's established that the virus was made elsewhere and that upon its release in a single remote location, everyone in the world would be dead within a month. and if it's airborne, why are they injecting ppl with it? that's not how they plan to spread it across the globe, so why would they test it like that? how is it that their reasons for releasing it are to kill everyone who's been affected by radiation? I know a lot of ppl are bigots, but goddamn. you wouldn't even be able to look at someone's DNA and tell that they're not human just b/c they've been exposed to radiation, first off. secondly, if they were so different, why would a virus that targets a specific species have an effect on humans, those non-humans, but no other species? is it versatile or not? if it is, the most unrealistically deadly virus in history is too dangerous to let loose in the environment, and if it isn't, then you're not killing any non-humans anyway. also, how does the destruction of the enclave base completely eradicate such a virus? that's like soaping a plate or boiling some water and expecting to kill 100% of the bacteria. the player could have at least had the ability and foresight to secure the anti-virus that the enclave also supposedly had, like any non-idiot would. the slides at the end were great and made me want to play through it differently, but it requires a suspension of disbelief to take their content as factual, seeing as how I can't believe anyone would have lasted very long after the enclave base self-destructed. (who creates a mechanism for the purpose of destroying their own base anyway? wouldn't such a large complex require dangerous explosives everywhere for that to even be possible, and in the event that it's purposefully used, aren't you in "ready to die" mode anyway, making it not worth the risk, let alone expense, of setting up the system in the first place? "well now that the installation is fully constructed, all we need is a button that blows the whole place up in case we have no other option but to destroy ourselves, but not without the measure of a generous time limit which allows any intruder to escape the complex with whatever they need anyway!" it's the sort of thing that only exists as a plot device for James Bond type villains to make for increased tension, at the cost of realism. it's stupid. it's something I liked it as a teenager in one of the resident evil games though. I suppose it's a guilty pleasure for me too tbh.)
I did actually enjoy the story anyway, even that final section at the enclave, but it's far from the masterpiece ppl make it out to be and it's probably no less faulty than 3 or 4 in any aspect except for customization (from what I've heard).
