Why Mothership Zeta is awesome

Well, if you wish to worry about that. Go ahead.

For me, what is canon is what I think happens....or the original F1 and F2 lore.

The games only need to be consistent with themselves.

@Risewild

I was talking about the reaction to CT Phipps's original post. You know, where like 17+ people decided to tell him he was retarded for enjoying Mothership Zeta as a Fallout 3 dungeon because it ruins the story.
I just read the first 6 pages of this thread (I'm a slow reader and have to go out in a couple minutes, so I can't read it all). And can't find 17 people who said he was a retard for enjoying Mothership Zeta because it ruins the story.
Most of the posts related to story and lore are actually people saying that they have a problem with that and no one call Phipps names because he likes MZ when it has bad story. There might have been a couple posts that added nothing to the discussion and were just spam with images and memes. And there might have been a couple people who actually called Phipps a name or two (but this was when people were not sure if Phipps was a troll or not, and trolls don't get any love around here). But I didn't see anyone saying Phipps was retarded for liking MZ because it ruins the story. :confused:

Well, the issue is people hate Mothership Zeta not because it's a bad story but because warps the narrative of the universe.

Which I accept

But in GHOST RECON: WILDLANDS, there's a mission where you fight the motherfucking predator from the Predator movie and its many shitty sequels.

I don't think you need to be told that didn't actually happen in a Tom Clancy game.

It's sad, to be honest. Seeing the lore being torn apart like this.

I must be one of the very few that didn't like MZ's gameplay either. Who the fuck likes spamming 90% of your ammo into one glowing alien on NORMAL DIFFICULTY? And for a RPG, there surely isn't a lot of places where your skills come in handy. Just some healing arches that get underused because of the high amount of Adapted Biogels that you get. Also I disregard the door terminals that you can set up to explode because they're literally useless. Usually I accidentally blow myself up, or there isn't any alien to blow up because they don't go in it or I kill them all before it does anything anyway.

Also, regarding Old World Blues, it was zany and wacky but there was a reason for it. There's also a reason as for why the "brains" became to be brains in jars and why they forgot everything before the Courier's arrival. They don't ruin the lore by saying "THE BRAINS WERE INFLUENCING PEOPLE TO BOMB THEMSELVES BEFORE THE GREAT WAR" or something stupid like that. In OWB, the main factor is science. And that's how they explain Cazadors and Nightstalkers. They were made by intelligent scientists with too much time on their hands, and they had more than enough technology needed for that.

Also, regarding the whole "So basically anything that's not post-apocalyptic-related or serious ruins the lore" thing. Some of you who said that don't understand. OWB is zany, wacky, fun but it also treats the lore seriously without fucking it up. The bombings from The Great War greatly (see what I did there?) influenced the brains and got their whole thing changed. They had visits from post-war people like Ulysses and Elijah who further added in new conflicts within the brains and also adds in depth to the whole backstory that all the DLCs share together. Mothership Zeta has none of that. It just breaks from the lore and makes an easter egg as canon. What the fuck? I DESPISE the idea of aliens being involved in ANYTHING about The Great War. But it happened. And it haunts me to this day. I can't do but accept it as Bethesda further ruins the lore with Fallout 4.

Can I get a link or a quote from someone in Obsidian that mocked Bethesda? I'd highly appreciate it. I love seeing anyone laugh at Bethesda for their shit mistakes

The wise stance would be to treat the encounter as an easter egg random encounter in old fallout games. But if I am to replay Fallout 3 on,e day, I will not install zeta because i like suspension of disbelief and because I remmber if you moved too fast you could get stuck in the ship.(really).

The Lone Wanderer suffered a concussion wandering the Capital Wasteland and took a long nap right then and there. Think of it like Dorothy and the tornado in the Wizard of Oz.

If only that's what happened to all Fallout fans and the aliens being canon were just a dream. I just wish they never brought them up like they did in Mothershit Zeta
