Will you play Hardcore mode from the get go?

I was kind of hoping stuff like going back to weighted ammo would be incorporated into the normal game mode. Oh well.

Hardcore mode sounds fun though. Just hope they're as determined to deliver on the RPG gameplay as they are on the survivalist aspects. :P

At first I'll probably try it on normal mode, but when I learn the mechanics (if they're not the same as in F3) I'll move on to the HC mode.

BTW, that mode is really a pretty awesome idea. Now it'll be a little closer to a simulator without actually being one.

the description sounds for me like it should be the normal modus you play the game with. so yeah i will play it on hardcore right away!
i hope that the dehydration is really dangerous not like that stupid gasmask in metro 2033.. sure it made the feeling more intense, but i never had to be really scared that im running out of filters.

i just beg that FNV will be more challenging than F3 not only when it comes to enemies.

What is the point to complaining that hardcore should be in normal mode? Just click "hardcore". "Oh god, too much work."

I will definitely be playing hardcore. Because that's how I rock 'em.

I find it perfectly normal for hardcore mode being optional, some people simply do not want to be bothered by time limits or some crap like dehydration meter. I always hated the craving from Mask of the Betrayer, so I support this decision.

Still will play hardcore during the first run for the other stuff, though.

I will most probably try the hardest difficulty I can get on the game. I fallout 3 was way too easy. I beat Fallout tactics on the hardest game difficulty and the hardcore was ticked so I think it won't be a problem beating new vegas. I hope the game is not guided at all since that is one of the things that makes F2 hard.

I don't want to seem brash here, but i'm going to tell the truth (I'm saying this because some people lie a bit about the difficulty they play at i.e my friend said he played on Hard difficulty and he was like lvl 28 after two weeks, when I went to his he was on Very Easy difficulty)

I played Average difficulty on F3, and I must admit it was relevantly easy, so yeah I think in FNV i'll play HC mode just for the realism.

I will play HC mode from the get go as I see it as being closer to realism and thus giving me a more immersive gaming experience.

Ammo having weight and stims taking to to heal you are great steps in the right direction plus having to eat & drink is very important as well.

Jesus, I decided I will play with HC from get go, but I seriously hope that they'll get the rest of the game well together before thinking about that part. Ach, it's really hard to tell how good this game will be since there are so much stuff that might be awesome and much stuff that might suck. But if Terd Howard want's to affect the development of the game, we're doomed.

Playing with Hardcore sounds like it would make the game much more immersive, I'm definitely going to start on it right from the get go.

Unless I need a bottle of water and a snack every five minutes...

If you can abuse your companions as pack mules again, then i'll play Hardcore for sure.
I'm a hoarder, i have to keep at least 1 copy of everything in my cache. :)

Yes, i'll probably try it out. FO3 was too easy for me, so a challenge is welcome in my book. I just hope Hardcore doesn't boil down to slighty smarter enemies, impossible-to-win casino games (this is vegas, after all) and the dehydration/weighted ammo features being broken and frustrating.

If I get FNV I'll probably try it out on hardcore from the get go, though im going to wait until after people who aren't drooling morons who dont know what an RPG is to review it (I'm one of the idiots who got the special edition of Fallout 3 on launch day, stupid lunch box still mocks me for my gullibility)
Stuff like this gives me a glimmer of hope that my jaded loathing nature is unfounded.

I also have that attribute. I believe it is from my old adventure gaming days.

I cleaned out the entirety of Tenpenny Tower that way, with Fawkes. Made a killing!

I will most def play at least one character on Hardcore mode, but I'll take it easy from the get-go. THat is, unless I play for a few hours and think it's way too easy. I always install mods to make the game harder (the kind that forced you to eat, sleep and made ammo and caps weigh), so I might just end up playing Hardcore on my main.

Problem I have with those is that the npc's don't have to deal with it. Well at least in Beth games with their infinite ammo, though with mods that make the npcs have limited ammo they tend to fire most of it into the nearest wall, floor or car they're taking cover behind.
