Will you play Hardcore mode from the get go?

I am a woman and still plan to play hardcore. So stop throwing around your mindless insults. Its disgusting.

Not really related to the subject, but really?

Awesome to see more female gamers who play Fallout games.
Roleplaying (computer, larp or pen and paper) is pretty comon for woman where I live so nothing special I think. Well I stranded at this forum looking for a patch so here I am :)

Hardly any of the girls I have met are into serious gaming, often its just casual or games like Pokemon.

As for the subject, perhaps I will do a combination of both.

Hey Michael, you just got burned. By a woman.

Fallout 3 might be the easiest game that is set in FPS that I have ever played, so will I start the game in hardcore mode? Most defenitly. Does hardcore mode make me happy? Very . . .

Im thinking when they say tactics, they mean for example: I hide behind cover from enemy and instead of enemy getting in my face with range he keeps his distence while trying to get back into line of sight. If player gets within a certain distence of a ranged enemy the AI will force him to back up immediatly.

Of course in hardcore mode they will probably throw more grenades, aim a little better and things like that but what I stated above would be a nice thing to have for hardcore mode it really would.

Fallout 3 got too easy in the later levels. I didn't like the harder difficulties because all it did was give enemies more health. I hope this will even that out.

Yep. I'm playing Hardcore from the get go. Fallout 3 was way to easy, even on Very Hard.

Also, Hello NMA.

I am going to play hardcore from the beginning, i love the fact that they're adding more immersion than fallout 3 had, and yea fallout 3 was way too easy, as had been said 100 times already.

I generally play through games the first time on easy/moderate setting, just so i can casually play through the game and finish the story-line without feeling like its going to take me a year to finish. But In New Vegas's case, and having played FALLOUT 3, I think I will go ahead and try hardcore mode from the get go.Hopefully it will be worth it in the end...

i will definably play hardcore from the beginning. Fallout 3 very hard mode was hard but u find like hundreds of stimpaks

If they get rid of fast travel and guided quests (you know, arrows on the map and HUD) then I'll play hardcore. If not I'll just keep playing Morrowind.

I played Fallout 3 on the hardest difficulty with mods that made enemies more powerful, made the player weaker, made ammo, drugs and money rarer, made triple the enemies spawn everywhere, made you take damage during VATS, gave fewer skill points and other things and only then would I call the difficulty adequate though still not that hard. If Hardcore mode will give me a greater challenge from the get go without extensive modding, then I'm anxious to try it out right away. I think I'll tag the Survival skill while I'm at it to roleplay a proper wanderer of the wastes.

No doubt, without a second thought when I first load it up.

Love that they're offering that.

I will definitely be playing on Hardcore. I do pray for damage tweaks, or enhanced cripple effects though.

Fallout3 on the hardest difficulty was, well, for lack of a better term, retarded. Amping health values isn't a way to go about difficult. Shooting someone in the face ought to be fatal, likewise, getting shot in the face ought to be fatal. Amping damage values both ways would've "Very Hard" amazingly more immersive than any other difficulty. It would've also made fights very short, and taking on multiple opponents nearly impossible. Both sound good to me.

these days I pretty much always play on a harder difficulty than normal, at least when it's gameplay I'm familiar with. and F:NV will definitely not be an exception, especially considering how easy FO3 was. and I will also play in hardcore mode because I simply think that's how the game should be. I don't like having to check a box to make enemies actually use tactics and for ammo to take up valuable space in my inventory...

it'll be interesting to see how the AI changes in hardcore mode. the other changes might as well just be small nuisances that you easily learn to live with, but better and more tactical AI will affect gameplay and difficulty overall, if done well.

It won't make much diference if they make purified water common like they did in FO3.

200 hundred years after the war, everything irradiated and you still could find hundreds of bottles with purified water... >.>
