World Cup 2010 South Africa

Great game !

I'd like to see a Netherlands-Spain final.

Both teams deserve to win... but Germany is playing really goooood.

Let's see what that octopus "Paul" will gonna say... hehehehe...

Hmph, I expected a Germany X Brazil final from the beginning, but it wasn't to be. Took a few screw-ups and some Dutch luck to bar us from the World Cup. Dunga has his faults, but so many others have.

Regardless, time to switch to my second favourite squad, Germany! Nice trashing of Argentina, which is such an emotional squad while in disadvantage. Obviously the Deutsch used that in their favour. Congrats, and onwards against the Dutch!

Lol what a drama penaltes affter penalties. Spain was so close having a goal, but lost it due their impatience. That must have hurt, they had chance to score a goal, but wasted it.
Edit. They go their goal wierd as it was.

That penalty situation was weird. The penalty for Paraguay was clear, the penalty for Spain was less clear. Having them re-take the penalty because of early charging is petulant and something you almost never see. Not only that, but if that meant the penalty had to be retaken, he should've done the same thing with the first penalty as Spain came in early there too.

Spain still won in the end, but this match perfectly showed Spain's problems: they struggle to break down a disciplined defense, and they faff about too much around the box instead of getting a shot in.

And Valdez?

For me that was a goal.

After Xabi Alonso lose that penalty I've seen another penalty on... well can't remeber his name...

What you think?

Ohh and Piqué was ridiculous.

Eh, not really. Cardozo was offside and while he didn't touch the ball he certainly participated in the play.

Yeah, Cesc Fabregas came running in in the rebound, but got taken down by the keeper. Could easily have been a penalty too.

Spain will defeat German?

There is a news about Spain:

ERASMIA South Africa (Reuters) - Germany's World Cup semi-final opponents Spain are far more dangerous than Argentina, with their game based on the world's best teamwork and not just individual qualities, said coach Joachim Loew.

"Spain does not have one Messi. They have more than one Messi. Especially in attack there are many players who can decide a game. Spain is not like England and Argentina, teams that make mistakes," added Loew.
"They make very few mistakes in offence or defense so we have to force them to make those mistakes."

Well , guys , Spain will defeat German?
and which team you are bullish on for the crown?

There is allready a topic for this.

And the germans have some insanly precise playing in this world cup. My money is on them.

it just means that we might see the most interesting match of the Wcup so far. Which is all I want ~ A german victory would be nice. But they should try to play good soccer first.

You call that 'news'? Yeesh. Also, there's a topic for this already so merged.

Germany-Spain should be an interesting match. Usually I'd favour Germany to win this match, but with Muller out they lack a key cog in their movement-based attacks. However, Spain has consistently had trouble in breaking down defensive opponents, and the Germans defend very well and very organised, so I expect them to again have trouble getting through on goal.

I hope it's the Germans, though. I would love to see a Netherlands - Germany final.

The Game starts in about 2 hours. Prediction time...

Uruguay vs. Netherlands
.....0 ............. 2.......

The orange men will make it to the final.

Bah! The Netherlands won just barely. And they got a freebie +1 with that second goal.

Oh, bullshit. Yeah, they got a bit lucky, but the goals were well-deserved and they had created a lot more chances than just the goals. The Dutch were a lot better than Uruguay throughout the entire game, and it's not a coincidence that Oranje got to the finals.
It's a shame that they got complacent after the 3-1 and they allowed another goal, but I don't think anyone can contest this result.

And the most important fact: first time in 32 years that the Duch got to the finals of the World Cup. This willl be remembered in Dutcb history for decades, and I'm not kidding about that.
I hope Germany will beat Spain, and the Dutch will beat Germany to cap a wonderful World Cup experience. Nog inne dan!

True about the chances, but an invalid goal is an invalid goal no matter how 'well-deserved' it may be.

Allowed huh?, more like they couldn't prevent Uruguay's second. :P

All right, but i wouldn't get too :smug: about it; it seems to me that the Netherlands showed their 'stiches' today (party pooper :P )

Sure. But if he was offside, it was really really close, and I'm not even sure he touched the ball at all. Since FIFA has the goal as a Sneijder goal, I'm even more sure Van Persie didn't touch the ball. Which would make it an entirely legal goal.

No, allowed. It was lazy, complacent defending, and not the quality of the Uruguayan attack that caused that goal.

They didn't show any stitches they hadn't shown before.

The most interesting thing about the match was Boulahrouz: that Dutch right-back got a lot of space, but he could never exploit it. That wasn't a surprise, but it does show how central to the Dutch offense and defense Van der Wiel is. I'm glad he's going to be back for the final game.

Also, I'm not sure what the press is going to say about this tomomrrow, but Van Persie played an absolutely brilliant game. If anyone's whining that he hasn't reached his usual level, they haven't watched this game closely enough.

@Sander:

No, Vander Persie didn't touch the ball. But he participated in the play, he blocked Muslera's line of vision. Thats what I think.

Hey that octopus 'Paul' said that Spain will gonna win.

Lets see. I believe in Paul's prediction.
