would you want a remake? New graphics? New resolutions? Quality of life improvements?
Honestly, all this depends on a few factors... but one big one that's two-fold.
Whether or not the dev team behind such a remake will maintain the original vision of the game in terms of faith to the story/visuals. The first one is pretty self explanatory, but if they keep the original soul of the game with the plotline and such then my interest is piqued. The second one is less on the 2d sprites basis and the actual aesthetic of the game; character design like Harold, The Master, Lieutenant, and others I'm too lazy to remember/write for the sake of succinctness. If they keep the actual art direction and style without doing a Bethesda of retro-futurism
absolutely splurged everywhere overriding the meaning behind the art style choice then even better. They could even do an InExile and make Fo1/2 but in the engine or 3d world for Wasteland 2/3 and I'd be content. That idea might even be great for character customization and general ability to convey the world in a 3d space.
Truth be told, I'd be skeptical regardless of a Fo1 remake; I did vote
'yes' on the poll, but I'd have to see the product and research a bit. How much would they change, how much would they keep or polish up, would the polish even be good in respects to the originals, et cetera. I agree with Atomic Postman with the idea the old graphics haven't aged poorly, and the UI rework idea from SquidWard just for the sake of newbies, and sure a lot of QOL improvements like better inventory management and even a more
human-oriented UI in general, but either way I'd have to see the finished product to make final conclusions.
I'd
like to see it... but man the way games are going these days -- especially CRPG style iso-games -- I dunno. Dangerous for fidelity even if they decide to do something like that.
