Cabot House (SPOILERS)

Mr Enclave

First time out of the vault
Wanted to post this for anyone who's completed the Cabot House quest and would like to comment on the content contained within. Total plot spoilers behind the tag so don't read unless you don't care.

Lorenzo Cabot discovered an ancient alien artefact in the Middle-East (think he said Syria or Sumeria or something) that grants him psychic abilities and the rest of the Cabots have been drawing blood from him to use in a serum to keep make them young... for over 400 years.

I literally don't know what to think, I was just sat there dumbfounded as the quest continued at what I was hearing. What has this got to do with Fallout honestly, that ancient aliens created the human race is now a thing apparently. The artefact does exist and it does grant him so weird blast attack thing so it's true to that extant. Possibly the most inane thing that they've ever added. Anyone else played this shit.

I guess they ran out of ideas for side quests, so they decided to plagiarize the History Channel

Yeah that's bloody stupid.

It is literally the most retarded shit I have seen played out thus far.

And I honestly thought that the resolution with the quest with Brian Virgil was probably the most egregious thing that occured in-game.

Super Mutant gets cured back to human.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the aliens created the human race. According to these people, but then they have a magic helmet and survive on an immortals blood. Lorenzo was imprisoned for 400 years and says to have studied the sciences, philosophies and arts of the ancient people through a psychic connexion via the helmet.

wat

This may be the biggest crap they've yet taken on the lore

I found something similar in a granite pit.

Apparently a chamber somewhere at the bottom of the pit was used to sacrifice people. The moment you enter this area you start getting all kinds of flashbacks.

But that is impossible.

In Fallout 1 (and 2 I think) it was suggested by NPCs/ZAX that it might be possible to reverse the effects of FEV with a sort of 'counter retro virus', replacing a subject's mutated DNA with their original DNA. However there would still be lots of technical difficulties in removing the FEV

Assassin's Creed did it too though.

Having aliens for 'high sci-fi' is fine if its a main concept but the way the OP describes this quest seems like its simply there to be a drawn out joke - but frankly isn't.

Its like all those random easter eggs in FO 1/2 they figured should go beyond just small jokes.
