Thanks, Mash. Works great now. I needed to run the game in Win98 compatibility mode.
Everything is detailed, sharp, and the view is amazing.
But is it just me or does my char look a bit smaller than say, what I'm used to seeing on a 14-inch CRT (what I played Fallout on originally back in...
I'm also having issues with the hi-res patch for Fallout 1 (US ver. 1.1)
I install the patch, it patches the falloutw exe. I then tweak the exe file to use my display's resolution (1920x1200.) I play with the .ini settings and still nothing.
Fallout remains at the default low res, as if...
In hopes of not having to use a little CRT to make Fallout look as good as possible, I installed the hi-res patches, for FO1 and FO2.
It didn't work with FO1 (US ver. 1.1) for some reason, although I tweaked the .ini file correctly.
It worked great with FO2, though. Details are sharp...
Every once in a while I dust off my Fallout 1 and 2 CDs and play through.
I've noticed that the two games only really look good on a 14-inch CRT. Even on my 15-inch Macbook Pro's display, the textures look a bit rough. They look horrible on a modern 20+ inch LCD, for example.
But pull out...
Hi everyone:
I've got the OS X version of Fallout (not Fallout 2.)
I'm searching for the latest OFFICIAL PATCH (1.2, think.)
Doesn't seem to be on NMA, and can't seem to find it through a Google search, either.
I'd appreciate a link to it maybe, or some idea as to where I can...
Fallout 1 & 2: Patch confusion
I'm completing my Fallout 1 & 2 collection (for both OS X and Windows), and I'm a bit confused as to what patches I really need. There are the official patches (not sure which is the most recent one), then there are unofficial patches, etc.
It's a bit...
No option to kill children in this game and experience all the notoriety/consequences that follow?
Lame.
Sex, drugs, child-killing, etc. were all fleshed out beautifully in FO1 and FO2. If FO3 is going to be a step backward in these key areas, then all we really have is a Post-Apocalyptic...
Remove any and all references to the previous Fallout games.
Remove the Fallout name entirely from the title - call it "Wastelands" or something (yes I do remember the classic RPG "Wasteland.")
What you're left with is a Post-Apocalyptic advanced FPS that lacks polish, uses a rather dated...
Hi all.
Long story short, I've been a longtime Fallout fan. Pretty picky when it comes to Fallout canon. I was planning to get Fallout 3, despite some nagging suspicions. But after reading through the various reviews on these boards, I'm frightened of the thing.
Been there done the...
