I'm seriously thinking of moving to another country.
Any suggestions?

Hmm I wonder how long that becomes an object of 4chan, furry-hitler!

On another front, in the middle of this economic problem that seems to affect the economy and that both the candiates seems to be uninterested to talk much about. The IAEAnly show pictures of documents that IRAN is gunning for nuclear weapons. Is this much spoken of in the american media? Will it affect the election?

When will US presidential election's result be avaliable?

When will US presidential election's result be avaliable?

Here in Brazil, election results are in the press around 6 (six) hours after votations, thanks to our awesome electronic system

Those card machines (or whatever that is) used in US surely are faster than paper elections, but how many days are enough for the process to be concluded?

Late tues/early wed we should get the main idea.

Went and did my part and voted for McCain, I hate standing in those lines :x

Let's use this thread as an all-purpose USA 2008 Presidential Election thread.

Currently votes haven't been counted, but exit polls of people questioned report that Obama is leading by 8%. It should be noted that 8 states haven't been fully reported, but those so far are leaning towards Obama.

I do wonder how many people are honest? I mean it may seem silly to say you'll vote or have voted for someone when you haven't, but one can't forget the Los Angeles election where a black mayor-to-be was shown in the polls prior to an election to win by a landslide yet after the votes were counted he lost just barely. Later it was realised that a lot of people who said they would vote for him were simply saying so to appear politically correct. That is they said they had no problem voting for a black mayor simply due to him being black, but when in the booth they voted without having to hide any prejudice.

Not that I'm saying voting against someone due to race would be considered racist. In fact I would guess that most people due harbor a few mild prejudices, but when asked would never admit to them not so much for fear of ridicule, but also knowing they don't like it themselves.

Besides though I would be bothered by someone not voting against Obama due to him being multi-racial it would equally bother me to know someone voted for him just, because he is multi-racial.

Oh and before anyone asks I didn't vote. I had the unfortunate luck of moving into a new place after registration, but before the election. Since my new address is different from the one on the voter ID I can't cast a vote. I couldn't of course change it to my new address since at the time of registering I hadn't moved into the new place and couldn't use that address.

Besides I couldn't (and still can't) decide.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Voting against someone because he is black IS racist.

I wonder, what if Barack Obama wasn't black, but white and named Michael Kennedy? What would be the result of the election?

Hmm, I don't understand American Right wingers, I hope Obama wins, I don't think we need another 4 years of US of A world policing.
