An analogy for the "mods 'll fix it" argument

They didn't put enough Viagra in it...
Anyway, the whole legendary design is flawed, the different caliber/weapon are unbalanced as fack, may you wait for a mod that remove legendary and rebalance ALL weapons and armor/clothing, or, just wait longer for a complete overhaul with bugfixes included, it'll still taste like shit.

A complete overhaul with bugfixes is the closest thing we will have, with some new stories and quests, but not as big as a standalone game (and may not be close enough to FO).

That depends, you have to choose between more RPG (and consistency) or more FPS (if the engine can). But try to remove the shit and it will create a blackhole. Everybody dead.

Step 2) Buy and download Underrail
Step 3) Play Underrail and the next time a Fallout 4 fanboy talks about how amazing it is you can say. "Huh, what's Fallout 4?"

I think this is the one that screws up their hype train. I highly doubt anyone is going to be excited for Fallout 5.

Skyrim was a huge success at getting new players, but once Elder Scrolls VI produces an even more dumbed-down version, same thing will happen. Elder Scrolls VI will probably be to TES what Fallout 4 was to Fallout. I really don't see people talking about Fallout 4 several months from now like with previous games.
 
Skyrim was already a dumbed down hiking sim. The entire game only has one use, as a modding tool or template. I mean I found the only useful perk trees are one handed sneak, smithing, and archery(I would say two handed if it wasn't so stupidly easy to kill things). Fallout 4 is simply a boring Skyrim(already boring) with guns but now without many NPCs and a lack of settlements.

Now I think of it, Bethesda should fuck the game and officially release them as modding templates for Fallout/TES and more maybe.

Fallout 4 is already a modding template but it will be an even bigger one once the GECK comes out. I say Fallout 4 is a modding template because of the "Busty" mod, naked females with pubic hair mod, and Lovers Lab has a wonderful addition called "Idiot Slut" which replaces the Idiot Savant perk.
 
The issue I have with this is that that 90% of those mods actually don't add that much to the gameplay. Do you really HAVE to play as a nude character? Do you really need a pink hello kitty power armor? Skyrim has a few really great mods, like the city expanded mods and the interesting-npc mods. Those are the ones that I feel can really add a lot fo Fallout 4.

So I take it you did not purchase the $99 Horse Testicles Mod that was released when Bethesda experimented with paid mods?

That mod really fixed the shallowness of Skyrim's writing and dialogue. Mods fixed it!

Some people like "fucking around"-games where they don't take anything seriously and just wanna have a good time. The nuds mods are for those that want to pause every once in a while to have a good time spelunking their underwear for treasure. Whenever I decide to play Fallout 4 I'll be doing the same, just get a ton of ridiculous mods and treat it like the playground it is.
