Anchorage screens and Q&A

I am just writing down my own opinion on what I feel was okay and what was not.

And in my honest opinion Liberty Prime doesn't fit Fallout, despite all its 50's references and aesthetics I don't think the US armed forces would build a giant robot when there are more realistic options available.

Well I guess in the Game the Robot never worked untill the BOS got it anyway.

And this is the US Governent we are talking about here. You can keep your fancy European "Logic". Here in The US We spend Billions of Dollars on things that never work out.(See Comanche Attack copter)

As For Oblvion. My brain was numb from playing that...that...Thing, I don't remember what the hell happened.

What I don't really understand though is why the Enclave didn't use its Vertibirds/deathclaws/soldiers to destroy the Citadel in the first place. I mean, just take a look at the Citadel and its defenses : two guys in power armor and a sentry robot ? The Enclave is HUGE when compared to the BOS guys in FO3 and yet they are dumb enough not to perceive the BOS as a potential threat on their plans while they helped you escape Project Purity ?

CUUUMMM OOOOONNNNN

Mr Bumble, that question also applies on why the Enclave hasn't taken control of Fort Constantine, the Robco Factory and the Armory.

They would have a supply of nuclear warheads, a factory to produce robots, and a stockpile of weapons

If they took control of the Corvega factory they could also manufacture military vehicles.

Heh...yeah, there's also that.

In Fallout 2, you had meaningful political interactions between cities which fought one another for their interests and you could influence the outcome of the 'conflicts' by making certain decisions.

In Fallout 3 ? Well, you can nuke Megaton ( just....because it's...ugly ? ) and kill the residents of Tenpenny Towers ( just...because ) and that's it. Meanwhile, the Enclave does not seem to care about the BOS at all, spends all its time setting up useless antennas across the wasteland while they could easily become the most powerful force in the region, wipe the BOS, and even reach their goal as far as Project Purity is concerned ( without your help ). Shit, Nathan even says that they've been broadcasting in the region FOR YEARS.

Giant Plot holes the size of The Glow I'm telling ya...

No! Why!

It all makes sense when you listen to President Edens degenrated dialogues. I mean if that is all he came up with after [spoiler:17d6a2b7bf]200[/spoiler:17d6a2b7bf] years [spoiler:17d6a2b7bf]as machine![/spoiler:17d6a2b7bf] I am not surprised that the Enclave did not managed to do anything like controling the whole capital wasteland.

That seems also to be indicative for every character in the wasteland, even for the character the player has! Now as I think about it ... maybe ... Bethesda wanted to simulate the effect of radiation and/or mutation on the brain so everyone in the capital wasteland is basicaly on the level of a ... then year old? (maybe 12 for scientists)

I think that something like a giant tank that's something like a destroyer (ship) that's built for land (maybe something smaller) would have been better. Ultimately the problem is the writing and it's quite possible that if it was written into the game well it would have been acceptable or even good, the problem is that it isn't.

When I think of 50's and 60's ideas of giant robots, I can't help but think of Toby Danger.

For better or worse, Bethesda's Fallout 3 is the official canon, but Van Buren, T2 and the bible can be considered semi-canon, until proven non canon.

Fallout 3 cannot be cannon any more than FO:BOS could be - there's no consistency, no real plot - just a bunch of noise splashed up on the screen. Even if you enjoyed it, you can't tell me that it's consistent. It's as much canon as any episode of Family Guy. You get to pick and choose which parts you'll keep.

I call it canon on the basis Beth owns it now, yes I agree the consistency is pure sh*t, and time frame is crap and people in game are dumber than rocks.

The fact of the matter is, it's canon because Beth says it is, for better or worse. I never said I f*cking liked that it was.

Anyone with half a brain could write it better than they did.

Don't forget the Megaton bomb lying around in a puddle for two hundred years with nobody interested in muscling it away for their own ends. It gets specially ridiculous with the Outcasts so near Megaton. So they want technology? Why they aren't interested in the most powerful weapon ever created? Nuke Taboo? Oh please. This is the TRUE Brotherhood of Steel we're talking about, not Lyons' army of pussies and medieval knights in power armor. If Fallout 3 was made by BIS, getting that bomb for Casdin would be a major quest, and rightly so.
