Sure, that stuff was alright, but the Hunchback was so retarded looking I found myself giggling the whole movie, and the three Gargoyles were just annoying as shit. One of my least favorites of the Disney films, but still better than most cartoon movies. I like how they made Esmeralda out to be less slutty. Makes sense though. Of all the movies that could have had subliminal sexual messages they left that out of Hunchback. I guess they fired that one dude by then.

I used to watch Thundarr the Barbarian when I was a kid. Pretty great show - a mix of post-apoc science and magic. It's definitely for kids, though. There really wasn't much of anything that qualified as adult-themed animation back then.

How did I forget Thundarr? I loved that show. I have all of the episodes around here somewhere.

Did we watch the same movie?

That last vid also happens to be the best Disney villain song of all time.

After spending my time as a child watching Disney movies like Cinerella, The Little Mermaid and Snow White, I found it to be interesting to read the original fairy tales. Turns out, they're very dark compared to the Disney movies! :D

The ugly sisters cutting off their little toes to make the shoe fit, and getting their eyes pecked out at the end of the story. The little mermaid ends up turning to ash after she refuses to kill the Prince for his blood to turn back into an immortal mermaid.

Well, that's disneyfication for you, they couldn't have their movies freak out little kids now could they? :P
Still, I will always enjoy the old classic Disney movies based on fairytales.

Like I said, it was good but I hated the Hunchback and the Gargoyles, so it brought my experience down. Princess and the Frog has all of that magical shit, yet the main character doesn't look like she has Down Syndrome. Just my opinion bro. I'm sure it's a great movie for some.

The hunchback is supposed to look like that. He's horribly deformed and most likely mentally disabled as well (at least in the book).

Edit: Also my point was that HoND had a shitload of sexual undertones. It's easily the least child appropriate Disney movie.

Someone should make a fan edit that removes the Gargoyles from the movie. Or at least from the climax.

I'm pretty sure the gargoyles were only in there so that Disney could still claim it was a kid movie.

You have to remember though that the gargoyles aren't actually moving. Quasimodo is just imagining that they are. He's not quite right in the head.

Still just happens in his imagination. They definitely needed to change the ending a bit for the film to make it more kid friendly.

In the novel Frollo gets a hold of Esmeralda in the church and has her hanged. Then Quasimodo lies down with her corpse, holding it in his arms, until he dies of starvation.

No I'm saying that I understand why they changed it the way they did. The ending change was necessary.

The gargoyles were necessary comic relief for children in an otherwise very dark movie.

I understand the Hunchback was like that. I just didn't like the character altogether. His voice was normal sounding and it threw me off. I think I would have liked him more if his voice was kinda weird sounding too. His normal voice didn't fit the way he looked. Just what I thought as a kid I suppose. Haven't watched it in years. I own it though. I'll give it another shot tonight.

Oh gosh yeah, I remember that I have seen that really old movie. Its still a pretty great story to say that.

Very neatly done, nice timing, and fun details :D

Russian post apocalyctic cartoon. Quite depressing.

yeah I knew that one.

There is I think another short cartoon by the same artist/creator about a warmachine (tank) which can actually think. The interesting part about it is that it only works when it can sense fear in the opponent.

There are quite many great animations by the french artist Moebius (I love his art)

This has got to be one of the weirdest Donald Duck scenes I've ever seen. But the look on Donald's face as he goes towards the cow with an axe is priceless
