Any Legends of the Galactic Heroes Fans here? Amazing show.
I tried watching the show, got past 1 episode and then immediately and randomly got spoiled onto like 3 major character deaths and haven't really touched it since sadly... :/
I really need to get around to it one day though.

Yeah that sucks, its kind of slow for the first 10 episodes but then picks up and till the last episode is amazing (at least to me, to some people it takes longer than that to pick up but I personally loved the politics and the drama in the show) I marathoned the entire show in like 4 days.

Geez, isn't that show like 100+ episodes long?
It really is a shame that I got spoiled to, the show seems to be right up my alley in just about everyway.
But finding out that my already favourite character and the one who really got me interested in the show died before even watching the second episode did really suck

110 Episodes long and I loved every minute of it, imo one of the best animes I've seen I personally REALLY REALLY hate the fanservice and the over the top plots in most animes I personally can't stand a minute of that, Legends of the Galactic heroes is completely unlike any other anime and as a person who loves war and politics this show was amazing to me.

I was kinda spoiled too, but tbh watching the show was still worth it since it was amazing in just about every way, hell I might even watch it again and do another marathon of it, I like it that much.

Guys, you gotta watch Dragon Ball Super.... It's almost as if it's trying to be absolute shit on propouse.....

I've seen clips of Super and it was enough to make me not consider watching it...so how bad is Dragon Ball Super? Is it like the Fallout 4 of Dragon Ball?

Latest arc against Edgy Emo Teen Self Insert Recolored Kaioshin (wish I was joking) ended with Vegitto (Yes, this shit is just fanfic at this point) failing to beat him so Future Trunks (aha) who was shown as weaker than Goku and Vegeta just pulled an Energy sword powered up by the people of earth and friendship that then killed the guy Vegitto couldn't defeat.

And again, to clarify, you didn't just read the summary of a shitty Fanfic, that's the synopsis of the Official material.

Wow. I can't even begin to explain how "Fanfiction-y" that is.

I can't believe DBS is becoming this mainstream so easily.

Anyone managed to watch Gintama?

Out of all the Shonen Jump animes, to me, Gintama is one of the few decent ones (to be fair, I have not seen JoJo but I do like the ideas and story direction (new generation of JoJos for each instalment etc.) of JoJo). I guess having an adult main character and being more open with the kinds of jokes they use is one reason why it's heads above most of Jump.

It's certainly a lot better than Dragon Ball Super, Naruto or One Piece and definitely leagues above a certain overhyped borefest or in short, Bleach.

I've heard of Gintama, but never really got around to watching it. Does it start off slow or bad?

It's more slow rather than bad. I remember thinking that I ought to stop watching the first time I marathon-ed the show due to how slow it felt but once the actual story arcs kicked in, I was hooked. It helps that the characters grew on me with how human they are (compared to most protagonists who tend to be overly idealised to be humans).

Later story arcs actually develop an over-arcing story that has reached its climax (in the anime, the manga is now in its final arc) that has just the right drama, action and comedy that makes it worth the wait.

I've gotton like 150-something episodes in but between Crunchyroll no longer explaining the obscure references in the subs (and the generally low quality of the subs in general) I've had to find some hard to find fan subs that do so and I was like right in the middle of a arc so now it's like it's been too long since I last watched it to know what's happening and I always preferred Gintama as more a casual show instead of having to keep up with what's happening so I'd like to go back to watching it but not have to jump right back into the middle of a serious arc.
Hopefully I'll return to it someday.
wew lad that's a massive spoiler right at the top of the page

Watched Gintama with my wife. We both loved it.
We are now watching Assassination Class but we are still in the first episodes so I can't say much about it.
