Any excitement left for Star Wars?

Any Thoughts on the new Battlefront game coming out? The few trailer out there look promising but you never know, I don't really think DICE has been doing a good job with the Battlefield series lately

I'm always hoping they'll make another Dark Forces game, but considering Disney is making Ep 7 pretty much all expanded universe stuff is in limbo.
 
For me, Star Wars is a serial. The Prequals were dumb space fantasy movies, thus they weren't the real star wars to me. If the new ones are going to be closer to the original, but not that villains are villains, heroes are heroes, rubber masks and shoddy effects type serial-y movie, then it don't count. Might be enjoyable though.
 
I wouldn't count on any Dark Forces games anymore, they, Kyle Katarn, Jan Ors, and so on were part of the expanded universe. And as that is now officially out of the window these characters might as well have never existed.
I am sure they will eventually come up with something Dark Forces/Jedi Knight like, but to me it will always feel as an imitation or a replacement.

Same way there will never be Star Trek games any more in the original Star Trek universe, so no chance for an Elite Force 3 or Bridge Commander 2.
 
I'd love to see a remake/unification of X-Wing, TIE Fighter and X-Wing: Alliance (including expansions) into a single game, maybe using some graphical overkill engine like CryEngine 3.
Especially TIE Fighter. The Empire's side never really got enough attention imo.
 

I have to say, even though I can't fucking stand seeing Tatooine again, I was somewhat hyped. That downed Star Destroyer looked awesome.
Then 1:34 happened.

Oh well, another desert planet that looks exactly like Tatooine, then. Doesn't matter, it's awesome. Dogfight through a downed starship ftw.
