Thanks for the quick reply.

Tried the A version, as per your readme and it worked. Was using B prior to that.

The reason for the confusion was that the download section of NMA says 1.02 users should download the B version. So, I used that one. Luckily, your new readme is far more specific and it helped me out. Thanks.

No problem. Please post again if you run into any other issues.

Is there any way to get the character editor to work with your patch? It's weird because my first time using it, the editor worked fine. Now it says that "Character Data (main1) not found".
The character editor has always worked for me though people have reported it not working my patch. No idea what could be wrong.

Do you think I should reinstall? Should I try A or B? B was the one that worked the first time, but when I tried it the second time (after A for the first) it wouldn't work. I suppose I'll try it again. How do you have your FO2 setup, as far as patches and such, so that I can see if the editor will work then?

Well using 'A' or 'B' depends on your Fallout 2 setup. Check the readme file and see which version should be used depending on the version of the game you have. Do a fresh install of Fallout and then follow what the readme says.

The editor still isn't working. Do you have any suggestions. I have also tried the save game crack as well. Any help would be appreciated. BTW I discovered that my Fallout 2 already was version two even without installing the 1.2 patch so I am using your "B" version.

Ok, but be sure to check if a patch000.dat exists in your Fallout 2 directory. See my patch readme regarding this.

As for what to do, no idea. I have never had this problem myself and only heard a small handful of people with this. Several of my friends have successfully used my patch with the character editor so I know it works. Are you by chance using an older version of the editor?

EDIT: Also, what is the path for the save games in the editor?

Came across another bug, I've actually run into this in the 1.2 version as well. If you talk to the Duntons about work in Klamath prior to talking to Torr, Torr will disapear from the map if you leave the map and come back. In my case I talked to them about work and turned them down, intending later to work for Torr. Obviously I was unable to do so.

This might be intented behavior on the games part, but it's pretty annoying.

Great patch by the way.

My path for the saved games directory is C:\Games\Fallout 2\Data\SaveGame

I have whatever editor that NMA has up for D/L.

I just did another fresh install and the editor works fine before your patch.

It shows the save on the editor and once I click on the save it comes up with the same message as before.

Couple of minor things you might want to include in the next revision.

1.) Sajag, in Klamath, says Redding is to the southwest.

2.) The tribal, Cameron or Klint, standing outside The Temple Of Trials at the very begining of the game- the one barring you from going to the village, has a typo is his dialog. Your character can say "I have some questions OF you." I believe this was intended to be FOR. Obviously minor, but still.

3.) There was on dialog where the last line of a response was "mushed" up with line above it. I've seen this will a few dialogs in the past where the last reponse is more then three or four lines. Not sure if you can fix this but. . .

Lastly, I want to say thanks for an excellent patch. I have one question, I know that the bit with the radscorpion parts was in the dialog before- but did you change or add anything yourself to any of the new dialog? Just wondering. Thanks again!

EDIT: I have actually see that phrase used before: "I have some questions of you." I am not sure if it is proper though. Thoughts anyone?

Engine issue, no way to fix.

Glad you like my patch and I am happy that people playing/replaying Fallout 2 get to play the game like it was meant to be.

As for the dialogue for the bugs parts...All the dialogue was essentially complete except for the end. So pretty much they wrote the beginning and middle of the dialogue but never finished it. This part was written by me. It fits nicely though, and I don't see it standing out as any different from other dialogues in the game.

Google gives 'I have some questions for you' the upper hand, with some 29,500 hits, versus 96 for 'I have some questions of you'.
As far as I know, the 'questions of you' is only used in conjunction with 'ask', e.g. 'ask questions of you', and in such a case 'for' cannot be used.

So, yes, change it to for.

I posted in another thread about not being able to talk to Derek in The Den about Becky's book. Just in case anyone else has this problem Killap posted a new int file for him in that thread.

The funny thing about this is I tried to get the dialog with Derek on a different computer without your patch. I have also seen this bug many, many times when playing the 1.02 version in the past. I only recall getting him to talk to me once or twice.

I'll try your new int file and report back my findings.

Alright tried the fix and it worked, you're the greatest. Will the fix be incorperated into future releases of your patch?

Of course.

EDIT: Oh and you say you encountered this even without my patch? I did change something with how Becky's quests are handled and I thought I forgot to alter Derek's code hence why you could never initiate dialogue with him. Becky's code was pretty bugged on how she handled quests, so it is possible that you would encounter this fluke without my patch.

Found another one, when doing the Anna locket quest, I confront Joey to get the locket. Normally I can tell him that if doesn't give it to me for free the ghost will come after, he then gives me the locket for free. Now, I get the line but he always demands money.

That option has a speech and strength check. Either your speech is low or you are weak. (or both) There is no bug.

Yeah, your right on that one. Just tested it. Per's guide says:

Confront him and either scare him with Anna's revenge (IN 6 needed), pay him ($50, or $20 with good Barter), threaten him (ST 5 and a Speech check, if you fail he'll attack), or kill him, and you'll get the locket.

He makes no mention of the strength check being tied to the intelligence check. Unless I'm misreading it.

Sorry, for the false bug report.
