Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Makenshi

Ahoy, ye salty dogs!
Assassin's Creed 4 has appeared on the LinkedIn profiles of three Ubisoft employees (click the image link below for a closer look at the original text):

http://s.pro-gmedia.com/videogamer/media/images/pub/large/assassins_creed_4.jpg

An audio artist at Ubisoft Montreal, a UI artist Ubisoft Bucharest, and a dev tester at Ubisoft Annecy each had the unannounced title listed on their online CVs last night, with the latter dating the game for a 2013 release.
The title has either since been removed from each of their profiles or altered to "Unannounced Project" - but not before VideoGamer.com managed to grab shots of the listing.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that a new Assassin's Creed title was in the works earlier this month, revealing that the game would introduce an "all-new Assassin's Creed hero" and be set within a new time period.
The game is set to be released during Ubisoft's FY14, which runs between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014. Given the date listed on the Ubisoft Annecy employee's CV, it seems fairly likely that Assassin's Creed 4 will be this autumn's Assassin's Creed title.

According to a post on VGleaks, a new Assassin's Creed title is rumoured to be revealed as early as tomorrow, with the site speculating that the game could be set during World War II.

Ubisoft declined to comment when contacted by VideoGamer.com.

Pirate Creed?

I haven't even played III yet! Those guys always sure do seem to rush to get more sequels out.

The DLC cycle for 3 ain't even over and they're already putting a sequel through.

They are seriously milking this franchise for all its worth.

Weird. I thought Assassin's Creed III was a poor fit for the franchise, just setting and environment-wise, but this is even weirder. How the hell are they going to cram the pirating theme into a solo assassination game?

Assassin's creed hasn't been about actual assassinations since Brotherhood, to be quite frank. Killing waves of mooks, managing an household/guild and dubiously realistic chase scenes have ruled the day since then.

What if I told you they have another team already developing the next gen (PS4, etc) installment of the series? Oh wait... i just told you... damn...

Anyway, i think they should have called it AC 3: Black Flag, not AC 4, because I think it will feel more like and expansion/spin-off (à lá Brotherhood & Revelations). Even thought the protagonist won't be the same, AC3 had naval missions at Caribeen sea, so this new game being there and at the same timeframe (with same engine, etc) of AC3... makes it feel like an exp/s.o. right?

Just hope the plot is better executed than AC3. Assassination itself is long gone from the series, it seems (it begun with AC2, not a shadow of AC1 in the investigate-gostealth-kill-flee aspect), so I won't lose time bitching about it.

AHOY YE SALTY DAWGS!!!

That shit was in Brotherhood too. This franchise will never end until you get to play an assassin everywhere at everypoint in time thwarting templars because the entire alternate history of the setting is that everything in history was caused by Assassins, Templars, or Assassin's fighting Templars.

Makes sense, the boat sections of 3 were the only thing that consistently reviewed well.

So will Blackbeard be a templar or a 'lumi?

For a second there, i thought it was called "Back Fag". Played only the first one and didn't like it all that much. Don't see whats so good about these games, i had a much better time with the Hitman games, though i haven't played the lost one.

Maybe studying Graphic Design makes you a nitpicky shit, But does anyone think the font on that image looks terrible? Looks way too flat.

I wish the AssCreed team would just drop the Matrix Genetic memory crap and just let us have an adventure in Illuminati Conspiracy history without ugly crystal "restricted areas" and Ancient Aliens.

I never liked any of those games. I like the concept, climbing buildings, assassinating people, but I hate the story and environments. Not to mention the constant sequels they are putting out. Way too close together. The series is going to burn out too quickly I think. Reminds me of CoD.

Theres a dartboard of "cool shit" over at the Ubisoft office. Every 3 months someone gets to throw one, this time it landed on pirates. Dinosaurs, unfortunately, did not make the cut yet again.

New DLC willl be pirates riding dinosaurs. Everyone's happy.

I mean, at this point it will be less silly than several other things they put in that story.

Cant wait for Assassins Creed : 1945 Destination Berlin

Hitler, Iluminati or Templar? What do you think!

Hey! You know it will happen one day ...

Well a fair few people did think it was 'shopped before it was confirmed to be official and yea the font is naff atmo, hopefully a proof of concept rather than the the finished box art.

Actually, IIRC, Hitler, Stalin, Rossevelt and Churchill were all Templars. Yeah.
