Automatron dlc looks completely boring

Remember how Children Of Atom have one place where they are non-hostile and it contains no quests or anything?
Yeah, that stuff was saved for Far Harbor I suppose.

So if they can breathe in radiation without dying then can they breathe underwater too?
I expect some Lovecraftian Innsmouth stuff going on, with "Atom" being some transhuman megamutant that slowly breeds a new hybrid race.

Shit looks like Bethesda just watched Transformers and said "wow we could make lots of money if we put this in Fallout"

Please save us Obsidian

"Michael Bay directs Fallout" is what Fallout 4 basically is anyways, so it's appropriate.

I would rather say that they both simply have the same understanding as far as their target audience goes. Don't get me wrong, with all that bitching about Todd, I would say that he is actually a pretty skilled guy. But only, as far as this particular field goes. You can not overlook the fact that both Fallout and Elder Scrolls increased their sales tremendously with each new installment. He simply knows how to sell his stuff.
The real problem is, neither the old Elder Scroll or Fallout fans are his target audience ...

The target audience for Fallout 4 are the kind who would call NMA a haven for nerds. Which is, to be fair, extremely correct , but if you'll excuse my usage of this term, Fallout used to be a game for nerds, so it's kind of disingenuous to try and tear it away from being one.

I don't think Fallout is for "nerds" as much as for people with an attention span longer than a 5yr old. It's like those signs at public pools "we don't swim in your toilet, so don't piss in our pool," well BGS is pissing in our pool.

You're saying that Fallout 2 is meant for people with average attention span? Because, no it isn't. Do you actually think anyone who don't enjoy games like Fallout 2 are all mindless, hyperactive action addicts? Because no, they aren't.

I apologise if that's not what you mean, but not everyone who doesn't think Fallout 2 is for them has an attention span has short as a 5 years old. I doubt the average gamer could tell Fallout 3 and New Vegas apart, but I doubt they would be all dumb action CoD fans either.

Let me clarify because I didn't get all of your post in the quote, sorry. It was in reference to the target audience of FO4 referring this site as a nerd haven, so yes when it comes to FO4 the target audience do lean heavily on the short attention span type gamers.

Well, Bethesda did target the fast-paced action, no-time-for-talk crowd in gaming, but that doesn't mean everyone who plays Fallout 4 and enjoyed it are attention deficit or are unable to also enjoy games like Fallout 2.

Yet even those people will still call NMA a nerd haven, because of the views on RPGs this place has. I occasionally enjoy the overwhelming complexity in choice the old cRPGs have, but a lot of people don't, and liking that complexity is considered being a nerd, because that's what it has always been. That's what I mean.

Besides, it was just a short, mostly non-serious, joke statement.

Is there even a meaning in debating subjective labels? Fallout 4 is, at best, mediocre as whatever genre you care to classify it as.

This Automaton shit looks like more of the same. Extremely cliche, sophomoric writing paired with more subpar first person shooting and more repetitive looting, only this time it's robot parts.

*Yawn*
