Not if you like such kind of movies. Even if I am not a big fan of those kind of themes (Titanic never was really the bigest of my interests movie whise, history is a different thing), but from the many "older" Titanic movies Camerons approach was probably one of the best so far.

I just hope that this teaser is one of those purposefully misleading ones, where we don't see the machine race come out of hyperspace and enslave everybody to hook them into the singularity, and the singularity has to battle with rouge AI's, and then everything supernovas into the 11th dimension, culminating with special effects so awesome that it actually causes people to spasm uncontrollably, and leave the theater enlightened DBZ characters.

I have a feeling this will be the biggest flop of all time, with a $300,000,000 budget and all.

I'm afraid of the marketing machine that will come soon for this film to give the budget justice. Might rival Barrack Obama's campaign for president.
 
he might refer to the movie Aliens which was the only movie from Cameron I can remember where a "robotic suit" was used (at least in a fight scene) which was for that time pretty awesome done from a filming point as they used puppets and real footage but you almost cant see it cause the images are perfectly cut together. I think one might see the Powerloader as "Mecha"

i was about to go on an internet rage lambasting this movie on tons of forums.

but isnt the whole avatar airbender thing kinda like... not what shymalan does?? isnt he into the whole scary/horror thingee with wierd twists?
 
Avatar: TLA had some darker/spooky moments but the movie is probably gonna suck. Saying that from what I've seen it's pretty close to the cartoon.

This Avatar looks kinda interesting but incredibaly by the book. I just hope the humans win because I hate the whole "nature is teh good and humanity is teh nasty" schtick these kinda movies have.
 
Yeah, I was referring to Aliens. The mecha you see in the background when the guy rolls off the shuttle in his wheelchair reminded me of that.
 
All I know is that Titanic: The Legend Goes On is the most batshit stupid movie I've ever seen.

That includes the moment a rapping dog enters the picture.

They can still be Dark Eldars, and pleasure-torture the living shit out of those stupid spacemarines at the Eye of Terror ;)


But I have to agree, this whole Narnian elf-whoring is cheesy at best.

One can say what he wants about Cameron but when it comes to certain things about filming this guy definetly is a genious. I mean a long timeback I bought the Alien Quadrology box which includes all 4 original ALien movies and has a hell lot of extra content for every movie like making ofs and all that kind of things. I mean its kinda pretty crazy to see how much of an influence Cameron had no Aliens from using the camera, to the design and actors. When they searched for designs it was Cameron that many times gave the initial impulse (well as director anyway, but still).

Searching for a design for the "Alien-queen" was not easy since the original Alien designer H.R. Gigger was not hired for the movie as the studio seen his work as way to expensive. So Cameron used one of Giggers art books as inspiration and created the Alien queen design and gave it to the Winston Brothers (responsible for the movie and creature design). He did also the same with the Powerloader and most of the Marine equipment if I am not wrong.
 
So apparently it's coming in 3D. I was wondering how that would work for someone who wears glasses. Do the 3D glasses work with vision glasses? Anyone know?
