Bethesda responds to NMA's preview

Bethesda threads are always locked at 200 posts, regardless of where it's heading. There're no exceptions. It's a stupid rule that once stemmed from technical limitations. It's unnecessary now, but they kept it since they like how it stops threads from becoming too long and derailing (and they hate the thought of people having to *read* all that text. Imagine people going through an effort). The mods don't have a choice in rules, tho', so don't blame 'em for that one

That dev was Matt Grandstaff, the mysterious community manager, his task description is one that nobody can figure out, I really don't get what he's supposed to do. That was a really bad, bad post, tho'

@ Brother None

You patience cracked at the right time!

What Gstaff did was an outright insult of your work!

Instead of taking the flawed points that you pointed out in your preview and fixing them they are ignoring them... Your preview was biased at some points, ok! But it was the first and only one that had actually well meant constructive criticism in it.

I know what to think of people who give a monkeys tail about constructive criticism about their work.

Seriously you did your homework, we will see if others did theirs in about one year.

You already know that it is the best preview to date, I loved reading every paragraph and find it a damn shame they aren't posting it on their "Fallout" site.

I agree with you. It was very refreshing to read a "Non Bethesda Kool-Aid" review.

Is it just me, or did Gstaff and RadHamster commit Public Relations Sepukku in the previous thread, and Brother None donned "The Hat of Verbal Buttocks Prodding" and gave them what for?

Fully agree with your stated views Brother None! Rock on!

Best. Line. Ever.

I just wish Gstaff would actually try to think up some better arguments then the same old line they have been using for 6 months now.

And I would like once to see him respond to a post after he makes a statement that is a pure fallacy, in which he never does.

Ah. Guess it was legitimate then. Sort of. But then of course a mod (dev?) popped in after it was locked to take a potshot at you, oddly enough.

Aye, I was mostly referring to him, and I just supposed Summer was doing something illegitimate to squelch discussion, since from what I've seen and read about her (I think it's a her?), that would fit her pattern of behavior.

I would say there's a bit of finagling in this case, wouldn't you? This was a press event after all...one that we couldn't even accommodate all the press that wanted to see the game.

This excuse doesn't make sense, especially the part about not being able to accommodate all the press. It has nothing to do with NMA producing a valid preview based on the material made available by Bethesda. I can bet anything if the preview was totally positive they would happily post it. Probably, they would even put it in a highlighted section.

But you know what, I understand them. They do behave like assholes, but I understand them. They just want another blockbuster; of course they will hide any negative opinions, it might cost them sales.

The potshot from the dev or whatever after the post count had been reached was a low blow.. but it was the perfect post for you to end on. Soldier on, though

ok, if we have fans, do we have fangirls? that's all i'm interested in...

(gotta cash in on my shortlived forum fame with the FO3 preview & Q&A!)
