Bethesda to buy another IP?

oh yeah I know that. Thats why I said that I hope it will not hurt any "future" games.

You know, one can say about Bethesda what he wants. But once a long time back they started to make quite "good" PC only games (I did liked MOrrowind and I heard Dagerfall wasnt thaaat bad either).

Now it seems they want to switch completely to consoles and keep a minimum on effort to the PC market. Which is a shame in some way as I think it hurts the quality of the product in the end for both consumers. Well definetly in the way how Bethesda makes games in particular to say it that way.

I think any company that wants to make games for 2 platforms should also have 2 teams with professionals dedicated to each platform. That way you can at least somewhat make sure that the quality is there.

They have expressed interest in making a superhero game, but that wouldn't really be "another developer's franchise."

Champions? City of Heroes? DC Universe? There's plenty of franchises that already have been under game development.

Why are we thinking single-player anyway? If this is true, it's probably on topic of an MMO, considering the timing.

Hello Kitty Online. :o

Bethesda + Fallout License = Oblivion with guns

Bethesda + ??? IP = Oblivion with cars with mounted guns on them?

I hope it's Planescape: Torment because I want all the people that like it to suffer.

You evil, evil person.

But to be honest I couldn't care less if that happens. Torment had a beginning a middle and an end. No room for sequels. (Unlike FO which has the whole wasteland... well torment had a whole set of "dimensions" and whatnot... but it was the story of the Nameless one, fallout is the story of the wasteland and already had a good sequel and a canceled third part...)

Planescape is long dead as a D&D setting, and is not a separate IP, but part of the D&D IP, which Atari has rights to in regards to computer games. There are no chances for a new Planescape game, and even if there were, it wouldn't be by Bethesda.

Who gives a fuck what IP it is?
It's Bethesda & Todd Howard.
We know how it will turn out.

McDonald's can start making something called "Porterhouse Steak", but as long as it's still grey, limp, bland meat that vaguely resembles beef than it's just a name.

They don't really even do Fallout games, their parent company just purchased a piece of paper that gives them the legal right to say they do.
That's all.

Bethesda's version of Planescape will involve a flight hijacked by ghouls. It will be called "Plane Escape".

Your name is Steven Seagal. As the covert CIA operative, you have to dispatch them.

Along the way you'll encounter important RPG elements, such as armor, levers that need pulling, and quicktime events.

it could be Baldur's Gate. we all know neither BioWare nor Obsidian are working or will ever work on it. Atari owns the license and are planning a sequel. why they'd give it to Bethesda I don't know, but I there are a lot of things happening every day that I don't know of

How about Darklands? Like Fallout, it's another RPG classic that has faded into obscurity over the years, and the company that produced it is long dead. Plus, it's a sandbox game with unremarkable narrative, and that's what Bethesda do best.

Hey, I wouldn’t be so sure about that.

The ending cut-scene in PS:T shows TNO grabbing his mace and going downhill towards a battlefield, most probably a Blood Wars fight .Can you imagine this?

The new game could be named PS: The Blood Wars, featuring a very cool character, lots of new monsters and spells, enough blood to fill your swimming pool, gore and fighting,
endless fighting, as TNO is immortal.

PS: The Blood Wars, the new “violence is F****** funny” action RPG from Bethesda Softworks, now with Glabrezu armorpack.

What else Todd and Co. should have asked for.

Oh, boy, that could be a living nightmare.Brrrr……

I just pray, and pray, and pray some more they don't take initiative and try to make a Cyberpunk game, god I would be severely tempted to burn my internet line if they did that to Morgan Blackhand, Rache Bartmoss, Alt, Jhonny Silverhand, and all the other main edgerunners...

Fear d20, it makes gaming companies happy because they can make simple games that emulate what the complicated ones did...

And yes, Final Fantasy Fallout and Halo Kitty deserve applause.
