I just realized that I should have bought Left 4 Dead instead of Fallout 3 and it got me thinking. What game was worst purchase for you? Something you really regret spending money on?

Seems Bethesda games have good resale value, so you should be able to sell Fallout 3 CE without much of a loss.

Let me clarify this :
I had a sort of mental construction of what Fallout was/should be. It was rather clear to me...until I played that giant turd of a game. The thing is that for a while I couldn't believe that it was such a horrid game and I forced myself into finishing it, and replayed it for a while, hoping that it would entertain me in the end. It didn't. The only result it had was to spoil the other games for me in the end. I don't know why or how this could happen but I don't feel the passion I used to feel about this universe anymore. Now to say that I dislike the series was maybe a bit exagerrated but when I look at my Fallout collection now, I just feel sorry for how the series has ended and to look at this Fallout 1 box just angers me now...

I would rather play minesweeper.
I usually spend my money very carefully, i read the reviews, watch some gameplay footage and try the demo.
I also sometimes give the game a rent if i am really curious about it.
as for the Fallout 3 CE...well, i bought it for 45 euros and later sold it for 30 euros. Can't say that i miss it.

Luckily I got Star Wars Rebellion (or as it is called in the Uk, Supremacy) of a mate for free so it was good value for money.
Hmm a fair few games come to mind but I can't remember the names, mostly cruddy playstation games.

What sucks the most is that I bought Fallout 3 from Steam so now I'm pretty much stuck with it.

I bought it cause it looked interesting but the gameplay sucked balls and the whole game was annoying as hell. Sold it the next day.

I also agree with whoever mentioned SS2 - while not a bad game, it was so far inferior to the originals, in terms of both gameplay and story/humour, that I never really bothered to finish it. I am lucky to have borrowed it from a friend instead of buying it though.

Damn, I kept thinking of System Shock 2 when you said SS2, so I was rather confused when you mentioned humor.

Unfortunate the manual is in Dutch so its not sellable outside the Netherlands.
