Can we honestly say Fallout 4 is better than Fallout 3?

It's not bad. It actually ties to the theme of the sole survivor wishing to spend, one more day with their dead wife/husband, in "paradise" AKA pre war America
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. It fits the story better than the main Ink Spots theme they chose, though It's All Over is still good on it's own. And @Dr Fallout One could argue that they bought the propaganda that they were living "the american dream" and that they truly were "free" when they were actually living under a horrible authoritarian government but it doesn't matter. It's just a song that fits the game and I'm not going to defend Fallout 4 any more than that since I don't like the game anyways.

I know that. I'm just saying in Bethesdas canon pre war America was all peaches, and rainbows.
Yeah, which makes you wonder why there was even a war in the first place. Electricity is widely available, seemingly for free and runs forever (judging by the electrified ruins of Boston). Fusion cores is common enough to be used by local, independant firms such as historical museums. Cars are everywhere and don't run on fuel anymore. A law student and a grunt have access to basic credit services, judging by their home, Nora's paid scholarship and the presence of a robotic butler. Buying goods doesn't seem to be a problem, judging by the kitchen comments (Coffee available, must buy nuka cola and sugar bombs at the market etc.), so it's safe to say that the currency is stable and the market of goods is still kicking (despite the UN being disbanded, America's only ally in the middle east nuked and Europe plagued by civil wars... None of that seem to had any effect on America, somehow). Sun is shining, and this middle class family apparently can easily afford whatever price Vault Tek asks for securing a place in the vault ("For you and Shaun, no price is too high"), so the pension of a grunt and whatever revenues a student can have are enough to live extremely well, in a country which is supposed to be on the brink of civil war, desolation by the lack of resources and a broken economy... Hell, why was there a resource war, then ?

Because China was the shit and was jealous of the perfect American society, in which everything was rainbows ? Alright, but this contradicts everything established by the previous titles, by the official timeline, the Enclave, and hell, even Fallout 4's cinematic intro.

You know, if this intro was a propaganda educational thing through virtual reality (which is a thing, according to the memory den in Goodneighboor. Yet, no ghouls go there to remember the life before the bombs, but whatever), I would have been fine with it. The Enclave probably had such "educational fairy tales" about the pre war America. But no. They didn't think about it.

I don't know how pre-war "paradise" went to hell randomly since everything was "perfect" unless someone dozed off and accidentally set the nukes off so everyone retaliated.

Chinese became jealous of how 'murrica strong and kicked their asses out of Anchorage. Apparently. IDK really. 'connectin' dutz' (c) Tagz

Technically I guess you should consider some of the Area 51 mods for Fallout New Vegas the alien city mentioned in Fallout 4.
Plenty of aliens in those as content from Mothership Zeta was used in them.

But I thought Fallout 3 had too much wacky 50s in it? OWB gets the free pass then?
