Contraptions Workshop

Zenimax didn't give Obsidian a bonus because the Metacritic score for Fallout: New Vegas was one point shy of the corporation's goal of 85 points. So what does Zenimax do to Todd and pals when they get scores like these? Does anyone know?

Hopefully ask for an explanation of what they've done differently and why NV gets better reviews (and why they shouldn't replace Tater Todd with Chris, Josh and Tim). It'd be the more sensible thing for them to do here, they're just going to get run off by competitors if they keep making crap.

Then again, there are better football games than madden and they still out compete, so maybe they'll just keep printing out these flavorless products that sell because of the logo.

I can see the review now:

"Contraptions Workshop: A Near Perfect Wasteland Workshop DLC!"
"It is better than all of the New Vegas DLC combined!"
And other assorted lunacy.

I'm curious how the Settlement building limit plays into this. Because it's not very big. I can easily reach the building limit without any of this DLC. So I wonder how console users even use this while also building a regular settlement?

Also, it seem they pay him good enough

Shilling, shilling never changes.
Matty's corporate shilling (and lack of any disclosure of his heavy bias) never changes. I wonder how does Todd and Pete keep him away from their boots with all the licking he does.

Not even gonna bother watching either of those videos, his Fallout 4 review left me with a mild concussion with all the head-desking I did.

I THINK there's a few console mods for removing limits, but someone I speak to has already ran into problems with the elevators so.

It's sat in my pending on PSN, unlikely to actually hit download though.

Well if you did, you might have heard him say that while it is a marked improvement from Wasteland Workshop 1 with shit that can potentially be useful like logic gates and display racks, it's still essentially amounts Bethesda pissing in the wind and that what the game needs more substantive quests added to the settlements to deepen their relationships to the world. He doesn't even recommend buying it. Misleading as hell title? Sure, granted. But he's actually arguing for a point that most of us here would generally agree with in this video.

But bias never changes, rite?

Interesting... I can admit fault so I guess I was wrong to judge the video so quickly. I dislike Matty and how much he shills for Bethesda without proper disclosure so I usually ignore his content on principle (plus I have been attacked on the numerous times I've left a comment on some of his videos). That video title is quite misleading.

EDIT: Ok, he is being rational. He's not being as harsh as I would have been but given my bias against Bethesda, that's a given. If even Matty can point out how lacking Contraptions is, I'm so looking forward to Bethesda's reaction to the mixed (or negative) reception towards their remaining DLC.

The one thing I'm lol'ing about is that he still has hope for Nuka World's story content to redeem his whole $130 purchase.

I just can't wait to see his face when he's like "Well, I've been stung multiple times by this scorpion but I really had faith the sixth time picking it up would be the charm ... :/ "

Hm, maybe Contraptions Workshop is pretty good after all...
Also, a great example of choice and consequences in Fallout 4. You free Pesto Gravey and while he's getting up from the pillory he immediately asks if you're ready to take back the Castle.

Is... Is it just me or... What the fuck is wrong with his facial expressions? I've never really paid much attention to his face but now that I his face just comes across as uncanny... I'm not saying this to be mean or anything, his facial expressions genuinely feel uncanny.

To be fair to Matty, even he has standards (He dislikes Mothership Zeta for starters).

Mothership Zeta was still a better RPG than Fallout 4.

I know that probably causes a knee jerk reaction, but think about it for a second. It really was.

So uh... This doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me:

There are supposedly 3 more reviews (5 in total) but only 2 of them show. Why's that?

To be fair, any game which allows you to torture Presten is a 10/10 for me.

I'm just going to comment on the thumbnail. What's the point of even having a pillory when crime isn't a mechanic?

Of course, I know the answer; settlers aren't characters or even proper NPCs; they're as much of a decoration as everything else in the settlement system.

It really is minecraft.
