Never read the comic, didn't even know there was one. And all those promotional comics that come with games are always inconsistent with the source material.

I thought I was giving reasons why I don't think he's a douche. Are you saying that Dante doing what every decent person would do is a proof that he is, in fact, a douche? I might've misunderstood what a word "douche" means then.

P.S. I think the fact that it's possible to actually have a fairly lengthy discussion about the game's story speaks for its quality.
I mean, try to have one about any of the previous games
So I say kudos to Ninja Theory for actually putting effort into something beyond a bare-bones plot to get you from one bossfight to the next.
