E3 2018

That shark game looks like it's gonna be one dumb fun game.
I would be hyped for RE 2 but it's an exclusive.
Really looking forward for some Metroid Prime 4 and SMT 5 news.

Death Stranding seems to be about couriers? Hm. The environments and visual design looks great, can definitely see the Yoji Shinkawa influences on the characters.

Smash Bros Ultimate announced, brings back all the characters from the previous games. That includes Solid Snake and Ice Climbers. Comes out December 7th this year.

Welp the one game I was interested in (okay I am also interested in The Sinking City) I wanted to know more about on the E3, genuinely wanted to know about instead of how much the damage is done (Fallout 76), Metroid Prime 4 wasn't even present.

Most of the games Nintendo showed were already announced or expected to be in development with perhaps a few announcement of new parts that people did not know about yet.

I admit I have not seen everything that was announced at the E3 so I probably should go through a video game news website (if anyone here has a link to a website with all the games that were shown on this E3 it would be appreciated if you linked it here).
But from what I have seen so far this must be one of the most disappointing E3's ever, or at least for me.

In the past I have always wanted to visit the E3 but it has pretty much lost what made it sound so exciting and special for me.

I was just hoping for a Shenmue HD release date, I have no idea why SEGA are being so secretive about it...

Death Stranding (Hideo Kojima) is about Hideo Kojima (Hideo Kojima), directed by Hideo Kojima (Hideo Kojima).
Fake news, Death Stranding is obviously a Revolver Ocelot (Revolver Ocelot) game by Revolver Ocelot (Revolver Ocelot). Hideo Kojima (Revolver Ocelot) is just a pseudonym for Revolver Ocelot (Revolver Ocelot).

Here's a recap site.

I came out of this e3 interested in a slew of games, but visiting it outright doesn't seem to be worth it. Everything is so fake and dead.

Metroid Prime 4 wasn't even shown or any new information on it was told and apparently Nintendo said they weren't gonna talk about the game in this E3.

Welp, this E3 was a waste of time to me.

Thanks Danuis

Yeah most of the E3 is probably a show with loud noises and flashy lights meant to overwhelm the senses of people, overwhelming them to the point that they don't actually question anything that is shown to them.

I give you a like Norzan but I mean to show that I know how you feel. I honestly can't give a damn about most other Nintendo licenses.

Yeah most of the E3 crowd are paid shills meant to overwhelm the senses of people, overwhelming them to the point that they don't actually question anything that is shown to them.

Fixed it.

Guess what really pisses me off this E3. Almost all the goddamn video games show no fucking gameplay. They only seem to show cutscenes and pretty graphics and nothing else or these stupid ass cinematic trailers that tells us nothing about the game. Just look at cyberpunk 2077, there was nothing in that tralier except scenery, scenery, and even more scenery, okay I get it, it's a fucking cyberpunk game, the title of the game is literally call cyberpunk, just show me the gameplay!

That is indeed a very big shortcoming of the E3 and I think a lot of the people that were attending the E3 are to forgiving about that or they were simply so overwhelmed by the show (or indeed paid shills) that they did not ask the representatives of the publishers/studios why there was no demo they could actually try for ten minutes to get a better idea of what the game is actually like.

The same problem also exist with a lot of gamers, they are to easily impressed by cut-scenes that they seem to forget that looks alone don't make a game.

Why are 80% of this year's games about killing very realistic humans? Or that's what most trailers/gameplay shown is about.

because game companies have become lazy and it's easier to make a game about killing dipshits with guns then it is to create diverse enemies like what games like doom, duke nukem, and other classics had.

Holy shit, the gameplay trailer for Last of Us 2 looked scripted as shit. And they already did this with the gameplay trailer of the previous game in E3 2012. No way the gameplay is gonna be that smooth on the final release.

I think this is even worse than showing no gameplay.

TLoU has gameplay? I thought that was a glorified movie people hype up because muh cinematics.

Definitely not any sci fi ish more linear shooters like Half Life, Star Trek Elite Force, and Jedi Knight which I used to be a big fan of.

I am rather disappointed on how the Wolfenstein series is continuing. I have not been a fan of the franchise since the start of The New Order as I preferred the previous Indiana Jones like spirit of the games compared to the more Tarantino like atmosphere that permeates through the series.

But when I read the article about Wolfenstein Youngblood and the main protagonists being Blazkowicz's daughters who now had to rescue their father all I could think off "The developers try to please the SJWs and the third wave feminists more."

It is not even that I dislike women in games, there are plenty of good female protagonists. But often their portrayal is done a lot better, being strong without putting it in your face "I am a woman and I am as good or even superior than men" which I feel will be the case with the new Wolfenstein game.

I did not like a lot of the social politics references in the New Colossus either.

Sorry for going of the subject of the E3 and bringing this subject up instead but I wanted to explain why I do not like the new Wolfenstein games in general.
I did play the Old Blood but it lacked what I in general enjoyed in Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 2009.

A little addition to one of the subjects I was talking about here.

I kept thinking about female characters in gaming and the recently announced Assassins Creed in which the player can assume the role of a female Spartan.

I am not a player of the Assassins Creed games because I find the gameplay in these games not very interesting.
I also know that they while they use history (at least some real history and some based on what current theories are when the titles are put further back in time) but that they are not historical accurate. (the pre human civilization for example with advanced technology that created the ancestors of modern humanity)

Still I think that introducing a female Spartan soldier or even commander in a period of history in which all military roles are filled by men is ridiculous. In general the number of female combatants in history has always been disproportional to male combatants because society assigned different roles to women. (practical reasons or misogynistic reasons). From what I recall even the Amazons - an in general all female tribe with many of them being warriors is pure mythology or ancient Greek fan fiction.

But that does not mean that a female protagonist in Assassins Creed Odyssey could not work, the designers would just have to do a very different approach to it in order to fit in with the setting.
Rather than the player be openly a soldier she would instead have to a female of influence like for example a priestess of the main religion. She could still lead a secret life as an assassin trained to fight and kill, but the player would have to balance their public and secret lives which could add a new type of intriguing gameplay. (the player having to hide their identity more)

And when playing as assassin the strength and limitations of a woman should be taken into account. Instead of physically taking on several enemies the player instead relying more on stealth and ranged combat, or perhaps using poison and other subtle tools to take out enemies because direct combat is in general not an option.

This way the player can play two different unique campaigns with one focused on male gameplay and another on female gameplay, each with their own unique elements.
