Endurance Fallout 4 SPECIAL video

You forgot the part where the NuFallout fans tell you that when the game becomes too easy as latest Bethesda games have shown, you must gimp yourself since Bethesda can't be bothered to balance their own game.

Yeah to parrot what others have said in Beth games one tends to become an Everything-Master rather quickly and by design, like some sort of "Mary Sue" simulator.

So what I got from the Endurance vid (which ironically enough, has more minutes in it than Perception, but has less actual info) is:

-More health
-Sprint Speed.

...that's it? Nothing else? That's basically another dump stat. Also, the character selection sheet has ranks in Bloody Mess? Whaaaa?

"Levelling is experience point (XP) based like Fallout 3, not skill-based like Skyrim. But levelling speed is closer to Skyrim, and not as slow as Fallout 3."

Wait, were people really concerned that leveling was too slow in Fallout 3? Personally, I think it's way too fast in the middle and end of the game. Like in New Vegas I always take "Skilled" just for the -10% XP "penalty" because I think that makes the game better.

Like as a rule leveling should be quick at the front end, to give people an indication of "you were awful at things, but you're getting better" but should plateau after you've made that point so that new levels should correspond with fairly meaningful accomplishments.

Apparently, each rank increase your damage which, I guess, increases your chance of gibbing stuff.

They took a useless perk and made it worth your while to spend points in it because now it actually does increase damage whereas before it just added gore when you did get a critical hit which resulted in a kill.

Of course, I'm sure there are better perks to take that increase damage ability better. So it's probably still useless. We'll have to wait and see I guess. >_>

EDIT: Though Bloody Mess used to be balanced where it would also affect you and your allies, i.e. increased chances of you and allies dying in horrible ways. The F4 perk doesn't look like it does that.

I thought it was a good idea to look at the comments section of the video. One guy says he doesn't like the chart and people flip their shit as if they insulted their pride or whatever.

This is what fanboyism premotes, Unpaid PR Slaves, Who can't take honest criticism of their game. It's always good to criticized everything. Even if you like it because you better yourself and find improvements that can be added for the next installment. For instance, Lady Killer looks fucking retarded again. Why not take the same advice from new vegas,Where it added proper new dialogue instead of adding a petty RNG bonus in your favor? That is EXP wasted.

Also, If can pick any perk we want at any level if are SPECIAL is high enough. Does that mean i can take end game. Or i need to take it in layers like that chart. I'm confused.

What really worries me is that pretty much every perk they showed so far - the few they did at least, has combat as its core. Increasing damage. Or, something that is related to the mine-craft clone of theirs.

I am not sure if that really screams RPG in your face. As like there are not enough combat oriented adventure games sold as RPGs out there.

Top level quote right here.

I like your humor, I remember people talking about reaching new levels like up to 100 could take up to a year! <-- LOL Holy shit are they wrong if you can level up really fast and you can put points into SPECIAL when you level up if you want instead of a perk point. What a mess.

Well, take Skyrim for example. How many perks in that game weren't about dealing damage, avoiding damage, or recovering from damage either directly or indirectly? It's pretty much the lockpick and pickpocket trees, and that's it. This is pretty much what Bethesda does now.

It seems that if you're going to make an AAA action RPG you're better off tracking your "combat skills" and your "non-combat skills" on different XP tracks, so people aren't greatly disadvantaged due to lack of combat skills, and so combat-oriented players get to play with some of the other stuff.

Man, I can't even get mad about this shit anymore.

I'm just glad we still have Obsidian and other devs making actual RPGs instead of this Pseudo-RPG shoot-fart-madness.

Says you can take the intimidation perk(the one at the very bottom of the Charisma tree) if you start out with 10 Charisma.

You show them a video of a dog and that somehow translates in their brain to "Good game".

Keyboard cat, the future of marketing.

IIRC they revealed what each stat does quite a while ago and they came across like dumpstats back then even, so I don't really see why anyone is surprised by these forced "charming" videos that the stats are pretty much just dump stats. Only one that may be the exception is ironically enough Charisma if speech checks have thresholds like in FNV tied to how high your Charisma is.

Has anyone noticed that all the stats are fucking useless?

I just hate the stupid animations for the vault boy. I don't know how they managed it, but they actually lost all the style of the initial vault boy images. Probably, bad art direction is to blame. I don't know, but it just feels wrong. Just look at how the vault boy is animated, for example, in the Fallout 2 intro, and compare to the animations in this perks chart and recent SPECIAL cartoons.

The new ones are just over the top. Probably, they tried to do them as funny as possible, and we all know that Bethesda's perfect sense of humor.

I want to see the Jedi mind trick charisma options so I can laugh my ass off at the fact that it's probably poor writing and because they'll probably make no sense.

When I see them I see the scene in South Park where Geoge Lucas rapes Indiana Jones, only replace Lucas with Todd, and Jones with Vault Boy.
