Id did not meet the Horrigan encounter and i'm late in the game. I've seen 3 hakunin dreams already and encountered kaga 4 times.

Horrible crashes in the EPA. I cannot enter sublevel 1, 2, or 3 by any of the 2 working elevators. The game crashes. I can only enter the utility sublevel.

Hmmm. Ok, I will need to figure this out. I may need to contact Timeslip as well.

Do you have a save game I can test?

No, I did your full install; except for the top choice - I forget what that was.

Her dialog merely tells me to find a way to free her. But I have the keys. I should be able to click on the door and unlock it - to not be able to do so because of some artificial restraint - when I have the bloody keys - is quite frustrating. I'm not sure how it could be intentional.

Also: Is there a way to revert the character avatars to their original state? Sulik keeps changing his image whenever I put armor on him, and when I do so he stutters often in combat and fails to equip his weapon (or unequips in randomly) - and tends to stand around. Giving him no armor seems to fix this. But I liked his unique picture better, anyways.

Sorry if my post sounds negative - its a great mod.

I could be wrong cause i had a lot of stuff going on with my game win i installed the EXP but i was looking around with F2Wedit and i'm pretty sure that both the needlder ammo's the needler it's self and the H&K P90c have the wrong inventory FRM's.

Like i said tho could just be my game, but the frm's are new, ones a fish and the rest are some new books.

Masterfully done - when I saw the quest "Rescue Sulik's Sister" pop up on my pipboy, a little tear came to my eye. I've been wanting to rescue her for years. The dialogue is seemless, and it's the most stable version of F2 I've ever played. You've utterly ruined my social life for the next two weeks.

I've noticed a couple of bugs come up, however:

1. Not a bug, exactly, but when Mom opens up the orphanage, she now exists in two places simultaneously - there, and at her restaurant.

2. When the Chosen One is knocked over by either by the exploding toilet, or the Ghost Farm trap door - and if he is then left in that stare for more than a brief second - then he will no longer be able to run (looks as if he's overburdened), and Vic and Sulik become cowardly in battle. They'll do nothing but run away.

3. Upon killing off the wild dogs in Mordoc (when you're protecting Grisham's Herd), instead of having the dialogue note in the lower-left hand corner say "Mission Accomplished" (or whatever) it says "System error."

Now I just noticed that Brother None said that they'res an updated Unofficial patch - I didn't install it, so these problems might have been resolved already (I'm not complaining - I'm just putting them down for record).

But even with them, this is still the most stable version I've ever seen. Kudos, guys. Brilliant work.

I will have to check then. At the moment, I honestly don't recall how I set it up. You mean using the keys on the door calls up dialogue? If so there is no option to tell her you have the keys and then use them? Do you have a save game?

Sounds like you installed the appearance mod. It is an extra so if you uninstall the mod (use the uninstaller from the folder) and then reinstall without that module everything should be back to normal.

The editor might not be able to recognize the new frms. If they look alright in the game then everything is good.

*EDIT*
I just took a look at the elder's chest, shaman's chest, and the vase with money. Only the vase and elder's chest have a loss of karma associated with them. The only "negative" thing with the shaman is that he will attempt to attack you, but he won't stay angry. It is also possible to take the items without him knowing, but it requires passage of a fairly tough skill roll. Thus unless you are going to play a thief, I doubt you can get what is in it early on. As for why the karma loss takes time, this is because the original devs had the call to decrease karma in the map_update procedure which is called about every 30 seconds (I've seen it take a little more before) This is kind of odd, but not really a bug. Thus again, I do feel this was done in the event you had second thoughts and decide to quickly put things back. Thus, everything seems to work as it should.

Hello guys,

Forgive my ignorance but I don't have much experience with installing mods, perhaps one of you can help me with this.

In the past I have installed at least two of the patches for my version of Fallout 2 so that I could add the Children patch.
I later also tried to add the EPA but I had not much success with this.

Just now I have tried to installl the Restoration patch/mod, the program ran but I could not open a savegame, perhaps this is normal.

I have decided to start just from scratch again (Id din't really have savegames to speak off) and have removed Fallout 2 completely.
When I install the program again (and do the necessary changes to make it run without the need for CD) can I just install the patch or do I also have to add the earlier patches.

Again, sorry for the ignorance.

Older saves will not work with the expansion. If this is the first time playing it, you must start from scratch.

There is no need to install any other patches. My expansion comes with my unofficial patch as well as the children patch. Just grab the installer and choose the items you want. If you are running an older installer be sure to not select the ammo mod or FO1 sounds.

This should go to the thread in the modding area.

Mom shouldn't be at the Orphanage. There is another lady there.

All of you probably got broken limbs. This was added since it was already in the game but not working as it should.

This was reported and is a known issue.

Thanks for the praise.

Drat, I forgot to ask this.

Do I need to install the patch in F:\Fallout 2?

When I start fiddling I get F:\Fallout 2\Fallout 2 which is probably wrong.

Well, if you are using the installer and installed the game properly at some point then it should auto detect where to install it. If it isn't then make sure it installs to your main Fallout 2 directory (which is the Fallout 2 one) The fact that there are two Fallout 2 directories doesn't seem right, but then again perhaps that is how you originally installed the game.

First thing, great work, Killap!

I've experienced a something similar to Congo Levi's problem with Myron. When I'm at the stables, I can talk to Myron and discuss Jet. If he's in my party when I enter combat, he stops speaking completely.
I've used the installer and enabled the option for NPC armor appearances. I'm not sure if this is the problem, but it might also be the fact that I drop off Lenny and Marcus, recruit Myron and then ask Lenny and Marcus to join up again. Perhaps Myron's dislike of mutants and ghouls could be the problem, but I'm not sure.

Thanks Killap! You are the bomb.

Recently started a new game with the expansion. Installed the stranger, quick Goris, and Cassidy head mods. Only one major issue for me so far. Ol' Bessie in Modoc has become completely bugged.

I hadn't saved Grisham's brahmin yet when i fixed up Bess and brought her to Grisham. After saving the brahmin Bess promptly appeared next to me following me afterwards. So I "sold" her to Grisham again (karma drop and all) and immediately left Modoc.

Upon returning to Modoc on my way back for the car, Bess starts following me again as soon as i enter the modoc main map. So I once again sell her to Grisham and leave Modoc...
Later I return to Modoc when there is jerky in the crate. As soon as I leave the main map, Bess is with me but just stands there so i can't sell her again. Weird.

Other small issues:
If you sleep with T-Ray for the car and upgrade you don't get the 750 xp for peacefully getting your car back unless you also sleep with him for the batteries. This same thing happened with your unofficial patch.
Also you can buy uranium ore from a caravan for $1. That doesn't seem right..

Oh and am I the only one that has encountered Horrigan and his goons gunning down the farmers? It happened shortly after i left VC for Gecko for the first time.

*SPOILERS*

Issues with Chad skimming quest in Broken Hills:

-Chad's dialog has "Marcus have been asking some questions about you" option, even if you don't have the skimming quest active nor ever talked to Marcus.

-If you ask Max (the caravan guard) about Chad and then exit the dialog, you cannot ask him about Chad again, thus making this quest unfinishable state.

-If you cut a deal with Chad and let him flee out of town, quest won't cross out and you still have "About Chad" dialog option with Marcus.

*END OF SPOILERS*

Might as well post it here (bug)

- When you get Myron to join you, he won't talk and trade with you after you leave the Stable.
If you tell him to stay, he will mention the EPA but doesn't point out the location of it.

Yes I know he's kinda useless but it's fun to hear him bitching around

I remember having the same problems with Bess. It's a bug's life.

I also had some trouble with Goris. If you talk to him you don't see the enviroment in the dialog screen, as you would normally do when talking to followers without talking faces. You can only see a black screen. But this also messes with other people's talking heads. For example Marcus' head doesn't appear sometimes and when it appears it takes a while until you can see it and dying Hakunin's talking head didn't appear at all when i talked to him.

(i tried playing the game without the quick derobing addon, but i've encountered the same problems... i guess it's not from the addon; i've also had the 'see the armor on companions' and 'improved stranger' addons, but not the others)

Two minor bugs I ran into at Modoc and Ghost Farm:

I know that you are supposed to get crippled when you fall to the Slags' hideout, but I went there through surrendering to the guards. Or do they just take me there so violently that I get a broken arm? :)

Also after saving Jonny and the whole family was standing outside, there were actually TWO Laddies.

I read the other posts rather hastily, so sorry if these were already reported.

I have a question regarding the ddraw.dll file, when the ammo fix is installed i weights 99840kb and without that fix it's 100352kb. Is it supposed to be like that?

just fyi - the Ammo damage mod will be fixed (completely hopefully) shortly and will be included in Timeslip's sfall as option.

Thanks so much again to Timeslip and killap for all their efforts!!!

I just realised that I completely forgot to tell how I installed the expansion pack. For the record, I used the installer and ticked all the options.

Also, I just realised now that trying to use a crowbar to cause a cave-in in the Klamath caverns sounds really, really dumb. I can just see Sulik tapping my character on the shoulder going "Grampy-Bone don't think that is a good idea."
