After Kaga encounter, empty encounter immediately after.
Hmm. Still those strange blank encounters. I will have to test and see if Timeslip's newest tweaks help here.

Residential: boy who gives Mom's quest, gives quest then instantly asks if you have any updates.
I take it you clicked on him before the game automatically initialized dialogue?

Again, I take it you clicked on her before the game automatically brought up the dialogue?

I have killed all the spore plants at the EPA entrance, but I can't complete the quest for the hologram. I killed some of the plants with the plant spray, some through normal combat.

In NCR I can't complete the task to kill Jack for Mira. I first talked Jack out of blowing himself up, then lowered my intelligence through drugs to get the quest. I went and killed Jack in his cell, but all I can say to Mira is 'yubba', and she reminds me to kill Jack and tells that it's not a good idea for me to be seen talking to her too much.

To activate the holograms you must fix them. Recall the message that came up when you first entered the room and then look in nearby rooms for the solution.

Wait, you lowered your int to get the quest? Is the quest even available for low int characters?

VC

Somehow all Vault City's citizens got reset, as if they saw me the first time, for example I get the Vic-Val dialogue again; I even get finished quest again, so they get uncrossed-out.

I don't know what causes this... anybody had the same?

I have fixed the holograms and got the quests. I have already finished the security quest to fix the robots, but the groundskeeper hologram doesn't acknowledge that I have killed all the spore plants.

Speaking of EPA, when I fixed the lighting generator for the doctor, the EPA interior actually went dark. That still counted as me completing the quest, though.

Wait, you lowered your int to get the quest? Is the quest even available for low int characters?
You can only get the quest in the first place if have a stupid character.

Are you sure you killed them all? There are some scattered a bit away from where the initial clump is.

I'll look into it.

Too many details to remember...I'll take a look and see if something is up.

@Kovnos
You're not the only one to report areas resetting. I myself have never had this issue, but I wonder if it is caused by having the game all unpacked rather than just a patch000.dat file...

If you are referring to the spore plants amongst the trees northwest from the entrance, then I have taken care of them. I have been running around outside for a while, trying to locate missing ones. I've even been using a motion detector, though I have no idea if it picks up spore plants.

Nice work so far on the expansion, Killap!

I just want to report that my game crashes every time I try to take the elevators down to the EPA sub-levels. I can send you a save game right outside one of the elevators if you want.

Oh, and I can also get experience for the raider's quest from Shadow Who Walks first, and then by killing all the raiders before leaving the cave.

Edit: I'm running expansion v1.1 (including the B-Team Mod and the Children FRMs, plus the fixes you have released in your fixes folder since 1.1 came out) over a humoungus install, with nothing installed before that, in case you wonder. The correct version is displayed on the main menu, and everything else works fine so far, except the EPA elevators.

Just wanted to report I'm also suffering the EPA Sub-level Select Crash.

I've tried restarting, going to the elevator w/o saving, setting program compability to Win 95/68/ME/NT all to no avail.

I too can send over a save-game if you'd like.

You can also count me into the people who are having problems planting the seeds in Arroyo. Trying to use the 'normal' seeds on the plowed track in the village crashes the game, but the experimental seeds do not.

I have spotted a couple of places in dialogue with the response 'Error'. Interestingly both of these have to do with acquiring botanical information for the Abbey. Choosing to upload the information onto a holodisk in the EPA causes this, and again when I give the information to Brother Paul.

I found the problem and fixed it. Did not upload the fix yet though.

I'll look into it. Might have included an older .msg file by mistake.

@those with EPA crashes.
Man, the list of those affected is increasing. I really don't know what to say... I let everyone know if I come up with anything. Perhaps I can add a new way of getting to the sublevels...though I am not even sure if that will help.

well, I don't know what you mean by this :S
I intsalled the humongous install, than your 1.1 restoration with the installer (with Cassidy's head and appereance mods). Running win XP. used a pre-made character file, but that's all

i have a suggestion killap:

i just started a low int character, and during Kaga encounters, his replies are the same as with a 5+ int char. if those were simple "ehhh"s, or "ummm"s, that would make the game a bit more realistic i think.

this is not a bug, just an idea :)

btw, the mod is awesome, so much new features that make the game more complete

Yeah, I didn't really include much new low int character stuff. That will be for a future release. Too much to do as one man.

@Kovnos
Heh, don't worry about what I said. I was writing out loud in an attempt to figure the problem out. At the moment, I don't know what to say about your problem.

right, thanks :)
and it's an alltogether awesome mod you made, and it has fewer bugs than the "official1.02"patch :)

Hi Kovnos,
could you maybe have a look at the savegame folder and have a look if the files VCTYCTYD.sav and VCTYCOCL.sav are there and what date they were generated/changed last time?
If the files are not there, the quests/map will be reset upon entering the city. These files are generated the first time you enter a town and should never vanish.

having issues when traveling across the wastes, cannot go far without an encounter, however encounters are nothing but open ground(no NPCs other than my party, no enemies, nothing), started a new game still same problem, uninstalled everything then did fresh reinstall, started new game still having problem. any advice?
So, you're saying *all* you are getting is blank (empty) encounters?

yes empty encounters. it's beyond the point of irritating, I love all the great things you've done with this but this is really my only problem I've noticed mainly because I cant get to far into the game without constant interuption on the way to a new location. so yeah any help with how I can fix this would be nice, or if there is a fix or update I could wait for either way would be nice.

I cannot remember if you told me your system specs. Either way, post them here. Also, check back here later today. I will upload Timeslip's newest work (ddraw files) which might help you. It will at least help those with too high encounter rates.

What action did you perform prior to the issue occuring? As far as I have experimented myself when I tried to find some bugs I realized that: deleting the map from the savegame folder or copying the map from another savegamefolder
will reset all quests on that map or put it to the state of the other file you copied from.

Are all maps/townparts in Vault City affected by the reset or just a particular one? Did you make the effort to check if other towns have reset as well?
What language version and operating system?

regards, Skel

only VC downtown (checked other areas and 3 other towns)
I did nothing to the gamefiles manually
game's american version, and the OS is XP pro with SP2 (that's Hungarian)

what I did was:
when I first went to VC, talked to Stark, learned about the raiders, and took the recon quests.
I got the option to follow the raiders to their base, but declined it.did the recon missions, got the first village mission, got the weapons, spoke to McClure.
VC was normal here (though there was this Connor character from the village in the pub, telling me how could have I done this, while he was still in the village)
did quests for V15-NCR-V13
then to New Reno, I found Bishop's map, gone to the raiders, spoke to Shadow-Who-Walks, convinced him that he is doing bad stuff, so he agreed to leave, got 3000 xp. ON my way out, a reaider spotted me, so I massacared them, and when I exited their base, I got the message again for breaking their strength and another 2000 xp.
the problem starts, when I go back to VC.
Stark completely forgote me, and replies like it was my first time there ("Who the hell are you, etc."). I tell him I wiped out the raiders, and he sends me to the First Citizen, but I can't tell her 'bout the raiders, just ask questions about them... but she recognised me, at least... critters in downtown VC react as if it was my first visit there...

edit:
yes, they're there (VCTYCOCL.SAV & VCTYCTYD.SAV), with correct dates, however VCTYDWTN.SAV was generated just after the two raiders maps... so the Downtown map must have vanished somehow on its own, and when I came back from the raiders it just generated itself again, thus resetting everything... or it just generated a new Downtown map anyway for soem reason without checking if there was another one and made a new and overwritten the old...

Anyone at all recognize the problem with Vic attacking me after I tell him to stay put? =/
He just automatically turns hostile then, for no known reason.
