Though seeing as the question has been skipped over, I'm guessing it's going to be a while.
Sorry 'bout that. I think I subconsciously skip over questions about release dates. ;) Well, the release is actually closer than any of you might think. Out of curiosity, how long is your break?

Exactly one week. I have to be back next monday.

Man, I hoped to at least be able show this to my grandkids, but feared I may never live to see that day. Now I'm assured I will be able to educate them on how a proper RPG should look like.

and done a whole lot of stuff like rescuing Sulik's sister
This is probably the reason. You are running 1.2, yes? You did say latest version, so I assume yes. Looking back at page 1 of this thread I see some post fixes that I said were not included in the latest installer. Since it's been almost 2 years since I wrote that, I guess I never bothered adding them in. That's dumb on my part... Anyway, please grab those fixes. Do let me know what happens.

I got these fixes (the ones that said they weren't implemented yet):

June 18th:
*This has not yet been added to the installer/archive. You will have to apply this fix seperately.*
Fixes the problem with Eldridge's special inventory restocking incorrectly.
Grab fix here (Just copy this file to your fallout2/data/scripts folder and overwrite what is there.)

July 6th:
*This has not yet been added to the installer/archive. You will have to apply this fix seperately.*
*This is an updated, and updated again, fix to the problem with the car and the Primitive Tribe*
Prevents car from appearing at the Tribe after rescuing Sulik's sister when you don't have the car in the first place. Also fixes the bug where the car could be lost if you didn't leave the Primitive Tribe with it after returning Sulik's sister. Also fixes a similar problem if one attacks the Slaver Camp from NCR. Bug results in the car being lost forever. Grab fix here (Just copy this file to your fallout2/data/scripts folder and overwrite what is there.)

*This has not yet been added to the installer/archive. You will have to apply this fix seperately.*
Going to the Enclave with the Vertibird would result in the ending slides not displaying correctly as well as being unable to continue playing the game. Grab fix here (Extract this .rar and copy the two files inside to your fallout2/data/scripts folder and overwrite what is there.)

the car was still gone when I loaded my last save game, after rescuing Sulik's sister. I do have a save next to the car in Modoc right before I went to the slave camp. when I find the time I'll load it up, redo the quest and see if the fix helped.

I'd much rather try to get my car back in my current save though, considering I did so many quests after leaving Modoc. I had the craziest luck with Frog Morton and managed to kick his ass barely taking a scratch myself. I'm too low level for that quest and I'm not gonna have the same kind of luck again :P

Hello, I transcribed a massive # of bugs from this thread onto the technical wiki:

http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/F2RP_Technical_Info

I think all the known bugs from this thread are in there.

Previously, the wiki was updated to show what bugs had been fixed, or which ones weren't a bug or weren't fixable.

But it hasn't been updated in 4 months.

Have more bugs been fixed?

Wondering how many of these bugs will be fixed for 2.0, if there's some that have been fixed but not updated in the wiki.

Ah, thanks for that!

I actually haven't looked at that page for about a year. It's pretty massive only because every one of Haenlomal's bug reports from F2 vanilla was posted there. That really shouldn't have been done.

I've fixed quite a number of RP bugs for 2.0, so I would assume that nearly every bug reported there has already been fixed. However, I should probably go over that page just to be sure. RP 2.0 has been beta tested by other people besides me, so this is definitely a good thing.

Ok, i seem to have fixed my problem by myself now.

If you want to start FO2 with RP 1.2 under Windows 7, you have to make sure to uncheck *everything* in the compatibility tab, even run as administrator, or you'll get a compatibility mode error when you start the game.

Everyday i come to this section of the forum in hope i see a "Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)" D:

Killap, I'm at the beginning of spring break, so I'm kind of at a decision making point. I really, really want/need to play fallout, having some wicked withdrawal, but if RP 2.0 is going to be done like, in the next couple of days I'll just wait. So... Are we a couple days away, or should I stick with 1.2 for the time being?

Probably a silly question all things considered, but hey, may as well ask.
Just play 1.2, dude
I was in the same situation last year and I'm glad that I didn't wait

It kind of pains me to know so many people are still playing 1.2.

Playing 1.2 is like watching an unfinished rough-cut of a sweet movie, before any of the effects shots are complete, and the editing is rough, and it's got placeholder music. It kind of spoils the true experience. Of course, some people don't mind doing that.

Also, many of you have already played 1.2, so this point is moot, but for those who haven't, I implore you to wait just a little longer for 2.0 (formerly known as 1.3). Especially now that we're at the final step and the release is just around the corner.

The earliest* I can have a release** ready is at the end of this weekend. So, I'm sorry to say that if you truly are desperate, then you'll have to go with 1.2.

What Dravean says is such a true statement. 2.0 is what I had hoped the RP would have been from the start - it just took me 3 years to get there.

*This is best case if all goes well for me this week.

**This release would be English only. This probably isn't a problem since I assume over 95% of the RP players probably play using English text anyway. A multilingual release would obviously be released some time afterward if I go this route.

[Waves hand at Killap, Jedi Master style.] You *will* go this route. Oh yes, you will.

The Cake is a lie!
(Sorry, i *had* to do it :P )

I can't await to play RP 2.0. I just started a new 1.2 Game yesterday but i had stopped after i read Killaps last statement.
Will this be finally the sacred release? lets hope so! :)

I'm just the opposite. I'm not one who can play a game over and over and still enjoy it (except things like arcade-style or 4X games which are inherently different every time). I installed 1.2 *just* before 1.3 was announced. A few hours into playing, I stopped to wait for the imminent (ha!) release of 1.3.

Even though it's been a few years, I'm glad I didn't keep playing. There have been plenty of great games to hold my attention, and when I play RP 2.0, I won't find myself thinking "I just played this, but I have to keep playing to get to the new stuff." That feeling kills the enjoyment of a game for me. This way, it's been at least 3-4 years since I last played through FO2 (I played it again whenever FO3 was announced), so I'm really looking forward to playing through it again, with all of the great stuff Killap and co. have added to it.

As much as I'm trying not to get too excited with Killap's announcement, I'm hoping this is finally the time.

By the way, can someone please tell or link me to what's new in RP 2.0? I only started keeping track of this again yesterday.
