A big pre-release thanks from me Killap (and to all the good folk who have obviously helped in this)! This is the only "game" that has got me excited in a while and that I know will be good! Bring on Monday! (never thought I'd hear myself say that!)

**This release would be English only. This probably isn't a problem since I assume over 95% of the RP players probably play using English text anyway. A multilingual release would obviously be released some time afterward if I go this route.

I know it's a pain to collect all those dialogue files and make it ready for the next release, but if you need any help to do that, don't forget that there are numerous of non-(only)english speakers that would be glad to help you.

Again, i have to thank you for all the great work you made on this project. You spend so much time on it for the last month (years ?), and you are so modest about it, it's just amazing. Every fallout fan should be forever thankful for that. :notworthy:

Do you think the next release would be the last one ? Do you have any plans for the future ?

The earliest* I can have a release** ready is at the end of this weekend.

A lot of people are gonna break their F5 key this weekend. :)
I hope everyone notes the conditions I placed on that statement. I don't want to break any hearts when life throws me a curve ball...

Hi there.

Just started playing Fallout 2 again after a break and of course I grabbed the restoration project, great job!

But there's one thing I would like to have restored to original and that is the sound for the .44 Magnum revolver, it's not that I dislike the one in the RP but I really liked the original.

So is it possible for me to do this without too much of a hassle or should I just get used to the new sound?

I have thought about this same thing, the old Magnum voice was better, I always startle when I hear it, no matter how many times I've heard it before.

Hmm, I wasn't aware there was anything changed that wasn't originally planned by the developers. I thought that's what RP was all about? :?

I assume when you say "original" you mean the vanilla F2 sound. The sound you are hearing is the sound from F1. You installed the pistol sound from the extras section of the installer. Just reinstall the RP (not selecting the F1 sound option this time) and you should be good to go. Be sure to backup your save games first.

See above.

Ah, I see now. Maybe those additional options shouldn't be included in RP installation, so most people who don't care about going through all the options wouldn't be bothered by it.

Just a thought. It doesn't bother me though, since I'll be downloading manual installation file anyway.

Maybe those people should just read before mindlessly clicking? :?

Some of us actually want them sunshine.

Yeah, that was it. The installer only said 14mm/.223 sounds so I assumed the .44 stayed the same but then I realized that was not the case. :)

Thanks for the help and keep up the good job!

But mindless clicking is where all the fun is. I remember when I would start a game, get a gun, go into attack mode and just start mindlessly clicking (killing) everyone.

This is much easier to do in Fallout 1 than Fallout 2, though. :)

I don't mind if RP 2.0 will come in english only, because as long as it still works with a german Fallout 2 version, it'll be fine for me.

I don't know how Killap did it, but it's still amazing to see that he managed to get his RP working on almost (if not) all Fallout 2 versions.

No, they aren't. The Game will basically be in english, as soon as you rename your text/language folder. Only a few untouched dialogues and talking heads will remain in the old language.
