I'm on XP pro, and I'm experiencing a slowdown in gameplay that wasn't there before. Not on the world map, but in normal view. It could just be my computer and it's dinosaur processor, though. 400 mhz if you can believe a thing like that ever existed =P

Edit: Saving and restarting the game corrects the problem

@ tomten

I have it installed on both a Vista and a XP machine. I never had any graphics problem with XP, so I just figured it was a DirectX10 issue. Meh, I don't know...

Does changing the graphics mode to 4 in ddraw.ini help?

BTW thanks killap and magnus for the answer regarding the AP ammo mod. good thing i played safe and did not install it.

You can install it, just remember to turn it off in the RP's ddraw.ini. It should already be off if you haven't deliberately gone in and enabled it.

Killap, the NPC appearance mod is absolutely mindblowing. I cannot express my awe over this feature. Sulik looks especially good. I guess I am not thanking the right people for making it, but thanks for including it in the RP.

Do you have any plans to make Cassidy's talking head background change like the others?

Hm, that was interesting, mode 4 is not to be used together with the resolution patch :)
Edit: Not with incorrect resolution settings that is.

Removing that and yes mode 4 seems to fix it. I tried starting the game a few times and Alt+Tab to windows as well, no graphics glitch to be seen. Thanks

Now if I can get it to work with the resolution patch, maybe I just need to change some settings?

cheers

I wanted to install the RP for the longest time, but the buglist scared me. Killap, I noticed you did away with all the unconfirmed bugs in the list, some of which were considerably threatening. Are you absolutely sure those bugs are no longer in the latest release? Hell, even if you aren't I just might install it anyway.

Well, I found a minor bug with the brahmin rustling quest, but nothing that prevents it from being completed.

--SPOILER!!!--

I checked the brahmin and then confronted the Duntons, and when I talked to what's-her-name about it, I told her about the bug parts. She said she would deal with those two right away, instead of asking for more proof as she did in 1.1, though I'm not sure if this actually ended the quest. My next option was "Actually, I checked the brands..." and she replied with a different line, but basically saying again that she'd take care of them.

--END SPOILER--

Anyways, the quest is completed and I got the exp for it, though I'm not sure at what point.

Edit: Come to think of it, I didn't think to check to see if I got the exp twice, but I think I got it only once.

Killap, you still haven't included the EPA warehouse map fixes that I reported way back in beta testing, but it's ok.

Code:
Robots that are destroyed at the SAD are now replaced - only on the Repair Level.
-It is possible to prevent the robots from being replaced.

Is the bot repair ability also included or just the replace ability?

Carry on.

There's no problems with the resolution patch that I'm aware of, apart from the obvious one that the GraphicsWidth and GraphicsHeight settings in ddraw.ini need to match or exceed the resolution you have the res patch set to. I haven't tested them together on vista though, so there might be more problems there.

Edit: Oh, and scale filters don't work either. That's no great loss; the scale filters were just a poor alternative for a real resolution patch anyway.

He said in the v1.1 thread he couldn't reproduce them. And most unconfirmed bugs were unreproducible by anybody but the reporter, and I'm guessing most were either fixed in silent v1.1 updates _or_ not actually bugs. Remember, installing v1.0 and v1.1 was easy to get wrong.

Just out of curiousity, could you be more specific? Or did you already post them to the v1.0/1.1 thread?

Bug:

Going to the primitive village without buying and repairing the car, via rescuing Sulik's sister results in the car being parked in the wooded area. Trying to go to Den to buy and repair the car results in no car in Den and no car back in the wooded area.

I have posted them in v1.1 thread (maybe v1.0 as well).

Does RP v1.2 require DirectX 10, or will 9.0c still work?
I think you might be mixing up the RP with fallout 3... :P

Fallout 2 requires DX3. Always has done, and the RP does nothing to change that. sfall does have a DX9 mode for fixing the black screen bug and displaying shader effects, but the RP keeps that disabled by default.

Been playing for several nightly hours and encountered a CTD in the Primitive Tribe area.

Description :
Installed on a Win98 OS (as FO2 runs better there than on my XP system) .
New installation (humongous install) of Fallout 2 (english version) then RP 1.2 with all the Extras checked.
Nothing else, no other mods etc...

Completed several quests without a problem, got Sullik on the party made some experience level and after toying around in The Den, i headed directly to the Primitive Tribe as i never went there in RP 1.1
If you don't mind, could you try the save in XP as well. There was a report before about crashing when entering the Primitive Tribe and I think the individual was using Win98.

EDIT: Save works just fine for me. No crash at all.

Quickly installed on XP, and the save works.

I quickly re-tested on my 98 running starting new , getting the suit from the temple and running straight to the primitive tribe area (named Unknown as in the game start you have not heard about it yet) , and again when trying to enter the Primitive Tribe map , direct CTD without messages.

so it seems a problem related to the 98/Me OS and that primitive tribe map.

EDIT : to see if it was not a problem linked to the city limits , i ran to the Abbey and had no problem.
So it seems there is really something related to the Primitive Tribe area.

Maybe not so obvious if you haven't spent time looking what's in those .ini files :P
But yeah, that was it. For some reason the game crashes every time I go to desktop now. It works with only mode 4 or only the res_patcher, but not both together. Any ideas?
