Hey, who wrote the encounter/quest with the warrior in the Umbra Tribe (w/ the stimpack dealer)? Was that an originally-scripted-but-left-out-and-restored section of the game or was that written from scratch?

I wrote it from scratch. The developers left no design doc for the primitive tribe, so that entire location was made up by modders.
 
Well cheers to you. That is a great little quest which feels in dialogue and spirit like the rest of the game. Which is fairly uncommon for mod work (in general, not in regards to this project) to say the least.

Awesome. Thanks a lot. When I was brought on board the project and made the lead writer, my main concern was to try and make the fan-made material match the vanilla game. So that's a great complement to hear.

The Krom character is one of my favorite creations.
 
Sorry to bother with this again, but I just realized it has gone unanswered :D So, can the NPCs now properly get their final level up?

I'm not sure what that was. You means stats were being lost or were incorrect? There was something where if you had the base proto file in the directory and not part of the master.dat things would go wonky. That's been fixed but should have been fixed in the version out right now.

I don't know, I'm starting to forget Fallout related stuff recently.

I remember there being a vanilla bug with npc leveling that prevented them from getting their final level up.

Yes, it's fixed by sfall.

So i started playing this with the hi resolution mode on. And i noticed some areas appear with black border and other areas seem to be missing ground tiles? Here's a pic:

I'm assuming since you're posting in this thread that you're not running the open beta?

This looks like the Primitive Tribe map and I'm not seeing this problem in the upcoming release. So, this is probably a map edge problem in the version you are running, which is now fixed.

Hi there Killap, yep i'm running the 2.1.2b version of the RP. You're talking about the 2.2 final release?

Does the other black border stuff got fixed in the open beta?

Well, 2.2 isn't finalized yet, but the open beta is ongoing right now.

The black border stuff probably is fixed since map edges have been corrected and the latest high res patch will be used.

Wow, those are some odd issues in that last post. Hopefully the latest high res patch will solve that for you. Definitely not RP issues.

How can i get the latest hi res patch? is it the version on the forum?
Also will the savegames of the 2.1.2b work with the 2.2 version?

Yes. Version 4.0.2

Yes, they are compatible but map fixes to locations you've already been to won't be applied and it's possible some other oddities will work. Nothing game stopping should occur though.

Ok i'll install the 2.2 version and will report on bugs. But one thing i don't understand is that RP doesn't have the f2_res_config.exe. I actually installed this on my fallout 2 folder and managed to make it run with this. With the new installation ill try to follow the oficial page.

Edit: installed and i see that the f2_res_config.exe is now available. Also it seems the f2_res_config.exe options precede the ones you choose in the game???i'm a bit confused in this regard, but it's working now.

Edit2: You were right i just tried the previous savegames from the 2.1.2b installtion and here's the kaga confrotation save:
