@Z4kW0lf
You can still get to the Enclave by Vertibird.
[spoiler:302bd37d6a]By stowing away aboard the one you meet in the desert during the Salvatore quest to buy the "Lightbringers".[/spoiler:302bd37d6a]
As for the rest, I think Killap is done adding and changing content. He's in final bug squash mode. The only content changes to the next release will be very minor map updates, according to Pixote. Once Killap has killed all the bugs on the Wiki list, the only planned update in the future is to add multi language support back to the game; project done.

And very nicely done!

No,if you get on the vertibird on the Salvatore's quest, you arrive in Navarro. Where it's a forced path: kill all or be killed, even in you're wearing APA...or if you have a high Speech :/

Well,I've seen that there's a mod that allows you to fly the Vertibird...only that it doesn't work :/
When I load it(v1.4) with the ModRunner,the game doesn't start :/
EDIT: Oh,just to be a bit more boring :P,why the Bozar firing sound is single if it fires in burst-mode?

4)[/b]An "alternative start". Like, instead of starting on a tribal village(Which creates some "lore" problems, like:what if you tag Science,Energy Weapons or something like that? The only tech guy in the village?)
Well, I think the idea is that you have an aptitude in those tag skill areas, but not necessarily any special training. So I don't think that any of the tag skills create continuity problems.

---

By the way (a brief digression - tossing this out to anyone): we seem to be calling continuity "lore" now. Did that come out of Fallout 3, or where? To me, lore doesn't seem as accurate a term in this context as continuity does. (And what - instead of using "ret-con", will we start saying "ret-lore" now?) Just seems like a silly change to me, kind of on par with converting "disrespect" into a verb.

Yeah, but if a tribal has never seen a computer(since the Chosen One was born in Arroyo,I think),how can he have a natural aptitude for computers?Or,if he had never seen a plasma rifle - how would he know how to operate one?

---

IDK, I took that word from WoW to be sincere :D

[spoiler:e17c450c05] When I get to vertibird in desert meeting lead by Wright's children, I fly to Navarro[/spoiler:e17c450c05]
... and I think it's a bug here - even I killed all Salvatores and Enclave soldiers during this.. event, when I simply goes to Vertibird, text appears that Enclave soldiers are still alive and going back to Vertibird.

And some screenshots with bugs or something. :P I don't know what happened to some of these screenshots - I think it's just Microsoft Paint, in game everything looks fine.

1) 2) Damage taken during various battles in various places aren't display correctly + there is no AP cost for Piercing Kick to the eyes.

3) Very, very minor glitch - in dialogue with headmaster of Village near to Vault City, letter "i" in "naive" mutated into something else (or maybe for that dude english isn't mother tongue).

4) Klamath, area full of geckos and with Bob's shack - some geckos just appeared from nowhere and this area is much bigger than player is allowed to search - just look (I don't know if it is a bug or it is made intentionally; I don't remember how is was in original game)

For the first "bug",I think it's because no one thought that someone would kill the Enclave soldiers

@ Panzerkampfwagen - some maps have been boxed in, others have not, that Klamath map is probably the latter. We boxed those maps when we didn't want critters running off the map, and considering there is only geckos on that map, we didn't bother. If you like we can box it.

Why do I travel so slow at the world map? Do I have to do something with the game data? And sorry if my english is bad.

When I say "aptitude," I'm talking about an innate or broad talent - not a specific, developed / learned skill like computer use, but an underlying ability in math, or spatial / mechanical reasoning, or manual dexterity: having those broad-based skills makes learning about computers much easier - even right from the get-go, when someone is first introduced to using a computer. A tribal might also not have any experience driving a car, for instance, but if she has high dexterity and reaction speed, she could figure out much more quickly how to operate a car than someone who had great interpersonal skills but poor dexterity.

Similarly, if someone tags Energy Weapons, then somehow they have the underlying talents needed to develop that specific skill more quickly than normal, but it doesn't mean they have necessarily ever seen an energy weapon before. (I'm not sure "energy weapons" makes as much sense as a skill category as "projectile weapons" or "rifles" would, but there's where realism breaks down in favor of game balance.)

Of course, reality is much more complex, but that's my thinking behind why a tribal in the game could still have science or energy weapons as a tagged skill.

i just replayed fallout 2 with RP for the probably 15th time, and was much pleasure as always. i figured that i always pick up more or less same traits, mainly cos gifted is too good to pass with any char.

wondering what would community think about improving some traits, not much, but enough to make them more usable... possibly as a part of RP, but if you know some already existing mod i would be grateful for the link.

cheers

:)

hey where is Killap? long time no speak :)

I have a question. Pixote. new version of the RP will have refreshed the map? and get something new things ?

I have a question. Pixote. new version of the RP will have refreshed the map? and get something new things ?

I communicated with Killap recently, and he is aiming for a Christmas release of the RP, that's if everything goes smoothly (he had a busy life outside of modding).

As for new maps - there has been a few tweaks here and there, the BOS have two new underground shelters (Den + NCR), the Military Base has had the bottom level enhanced somewhat...I just have to mention that this might be the last major release of the RP, there isn't anything else to do other than fixing bugs. One dream was to add a new black and an extra female playing character, these things might still happen, but not in the foreseeable future because the time involved in editing critters takes hundreds of hours.

.Pixote. personally I've nothing to un-boxed Klamath's whatever-hunting-grounds map. After your explanation, everything is clear and obvious.

OK, I've finished Fallout 2 Restoration Project for the first time (and it will be ~10 my completed gameplay of any version of Fallout 2 in general). Here some other bugs/glitches I encountered:

1) Using Fallout 2 Hintbook (after beating the game, not by using any cheats) causes game to crash. Screen goes black, music is playing, then stoping and nothing happens, just black screen remains.

2) That dude from Abbey, who could fix water pump with piece brought by Chosen One - he performed repair (or using that part?) animation on ground, where he stand, not on pump.

3) Weird bug with travelling by car - when car run out of power in short distance (~3-4 squares at world map) near place of destination, instead of usual "Car Outta Power" encounter it's just green triangle on the world map and after clicking it, character (with car, NPCs) appears in place where he/she travelled. It happened to me twice - first near Primitive Tribe, second near Vault City. They weren't my first arrivals to that places.

4) Another bug with travelling - sometimes when leaving small locations like Golgotha or Stables, character weren't placed on world map directly in that places:

254zdrr.jpg

5) Sometimes during various talks with various places, options of speaking weren't hightlighted completly, two examples:

dc50g4.jpg

6) Some boxes in Military Base are unavailable for character:

ix5mci.jpg

7) Ghost in New Reno at Commercial Row (just floating text above exit grid):

og2md.jpg

24oua1s.jpg

8) Something is wrong with one of Ranger's Safe Houses maps:

2hiaywz.jpg

9) "You cannot get there" - to car trunk in Toxic Caves:

8vsswi.jpg

10) Flies from EPA doesn't count in Kills at character screen

11bunvm.jpg

11) I cannot report that I solve problem with Village near the Vault City in peaceful way to that dude in the Village.

12) Something wrong with weight - loaded gun has more weight than unloaded (but I think it doesn't matter if we got that ammo in gun or just in inventory - aren't character's hands places for holding inventory?)

2zfle3b.jpg

(loaded Laser Pistol - total weight 242/275
iftxja.jpg

(unloaded Laser Pistol, so more ammo in inventory - total weight 239/275)

0) This isn't a bug, but it's just weird that Fire Gecko can run out of ammo for his own breath.

0) This isn't a bug, and I know it could be difficult to do anything with that map, but it looks soooo claustrophobic in 1200x800:

a few comments

4) long-standing issue that exists in the vanilla game, not sure if it's been stated as being fixable or not.

5) same as above

6) same as above, except this probably isn't a bug but just meant to torment you

7) lacking map blockers?

8) I don't see anything wrong with the image.. could you be more specific?

12) same as #4, iirc the weight of a gun + ammo is equivalent to the empty gun plus an entire 'clip' of the ammo. thus if you have a partial clip in inventory and you un-load your gun, if that additional ammo from the gun doesn't push the clip-size to the next multiple then it will create the scenario you're reporting as a bug.

0x2) would require all new art to extend it i believe. honestly, the art looks best at lower resolutions anyway.
