Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

Hi, is there a way to free the slaves to the sw at the slave camp?

I tryed to open the door with the key. The textboard tells me, 'u unlock the door' but it remains closed and I found no way to open it.

Thanks for any help.

This issue seems to be pretty common. Try to exit that map, then re-enter and lock/unlock the door again. Worked for me.
Sometimes the slaves won't run out from there either. The same procedure as above should fix that.

@ SoldierOfTruth
You can finish that quest if you do it before talking to the NCR rangers. And then they want you to take out the slave pen in NCR, and then the slave camp yet again. It's a bit bugged...

@dougley
I can't remeber if you ever get any explosives in the Den, in my last play-through I didn't anyway. There's some in Modoc for sure.

So did anyone manage to find out how to fly with a vertibird?

Thats in the mega mod not the restoration mod ...

Look for MIB88's work instead!
From killap's introduction to the Restoration Project.
Again, here is a list of all the new content that can be found in the expansion:
Code:
New content found in the expansion:

New Locations:
--------------

• Enclave Vertibird Landing Pad

Navarro:
--------
• Ability to fly to Enclave in a vertibird.

Yeah.

So how do you do it? I scouted the whole Navarro area and i found no green patch that goes to a landing pad or something (is the landing pad in the Oil rig or around Navarro anyway). No person or computer tells you anything new about flying. The vertibirds aren't useable. :?

Same here. I even obtained the location of the pad through the computer in the lower Navarro floor (the one with the "Snookie" password) Maybe it's the vertibird that the Sarg makes you guard?

The landing pad is in the oil rig. I haven't seen it in-game, but with the Fallout Mapper. It's in the second level of ENCDOC.MAP.

I have no idea how you get in the damn vertibird though.

I didn't search it, but someone I know gave me a screenshot. Just like you, I thought it was a place in Navarro... nope. It's on the Enclave oil rig=>

how do you find the raiders that attack vault city?
... or leaving Vault City at nighttime you sometimes spot the raiders and get the option to follow them to their hideout. The better your outdoorsman skill, the better chance of spotting them. But it doesn't have to be very high, just exit, enter city, exit... until you spot them.

I think it also helps to get as much information as you can from Stark at the Corrections Center in Vault City. He obviously won't pin point the raiders for you but he is basically the main source whom you find that they are coming from the "south" etc...

@darek

Thanks for that info I'll have to try it out in a new game soon. I screwed up my current game anyways and I may switch from solo-sniper to team big gunner. So look out slavers, here comes me with my bozar & 200% Big Guns...

New Reno >>> Bishop's safe >>> map

This is my preferred method as well.

Sleep with Bishop's daughter>>Sleep with his wife>>Get the lingual enhancer from her safe>>Break into Bishop's safe and steal Raider's Map>>Deliver Moore's briefcase on the way out to appease for sleeping with every female in his family. :D

i think i made bishops daughter mad at me, she wont talk to me.. And my dweller is female.

Angela Bishop is a useless annoying bitch if you play a female character. Bishop's wife isn't though.

So in conclusion you can fly with a vertibird FROM enclave, not TO it?
It'd be nice if that was corrected in the changes (it's place is obviously in Enclave, not in Navarro - and should read "Ability to fly with a vertibird to Navarro and back" or something. I still haven't gotten to it so I don't know the specifics). Inciting false expectations is not the way to win friends. :D

No, you're supposed to be able to fly the vertibird from Navarro to the oil rig and then back.

It goes something like this:

Spoiler...

Try to get into vertibird, Raul will spot you if he's around and tell you not to do it again, or you will have to fight.
Try to get into vertibird, guard in powerarmor outside might spot you, fail a speech check and you will have to fight.
Get into the vertibird, you get asked to insert yellow reactor key card. Then run pre-flight diagnostics, get message "Satellites not aligned for automated docking with Oil Rig"
Exit vertibird and find traffic control terminal. Align satellite to receive Enclave coordinates.
Enter vertibird again and fly off to the oil rig.
Take care off business with the enclave.
Leave the oil rig and fly back to Navarro.

Now how to do all this I don't know. It's either broken or we're just not clever enough to figure it out.

I also agree with the latter.

Here's what I've pieced together so far....
1.) There are 2 vertibirds in Navarro.
2.) One needs to be repaired, the other is functional as far as I know.
3.) The database (snookie password) gives some vague information on using a vertibird to get to the oil rig. (Possibly need high science to decipher some of the data, and get a better answer.)
4.) There is obviously some type of scientist on base that will lead us in the right direction.

hehehe, that's what I think sometimes.

I just had a look at the vertibird at the oil rig. Unlike the ones in Navarro, with this one you get a hand icon when you put the mouse over it. But I couldn't do anything, just get a "you cannot get there" message, every time I try something.

Maybe we're looking the wrong place for the vertibird? What do you think?

"you cannot get there" message in oil rig. Same here. It's probably as much possible to fly in a vertibird as it is possible to "plant seeds in Arroyo"
Also the vertibird unloading pad map is graphically glitched as hell... Just look in the far sides...
