Need Help (In-Game) Fallout 2 Restoration Project

Errr, I was wondering...

I'm trying to do all quests, coz I already finished the game, I'm just bored, and I'm having trouble solving a quest from the Primitive Tribe, specifically the

"Find out what's haunting the tribe's shaman"

quest. I tried clicking anything and everything, asking Sulik to consult the spirits, talking to everyone, but I can't solve it.

Please help me out! I'm desperate to finish this quest!

If memory serves right, you may need to talk to the shaman first and then rest until you reach an answer. Remember that something is "haunting" the shaman...

You know... haunting... think about what haunts people...

There are a few of these in FO2 and they tend to appear at specific times and tend to be linked to a physical shell of some form...

If you're still stuck, I'll give more clues...

Hi all,

I encountered a bug (I think).

I arrived in New Reno, and started to do the Salvatore quests.

I killed Floydd and get the 1000$ and come back to mason to tell him the job is done. He let me in, but Salvatore suddenly refuse to talk to me and instead, call for guards. The guards come, but don't attack me. Instead, I can talk to mason again, just like he never saw me before.... but impossible to go talk to Salvatore anymore.

I thought that it might be because of some object I carry, but I went "naked", and still salvatore call for guards.

any hint how to solve this?

Note: I didn't do any other quests in New Reno yet.

in the wooded area before you enter the village there is a body of a dead girl (somewhere on the right side). you should examine it (with binoculars icon). when the shaman tells you of the haunting, wait untill midnight and her ghost should appear in front of the tent. then you can talk to her. you can do the rest on your own ;)

@tom-le-termite,

That isn't something that killap changed, as far as I know, so if you haven't done anything else in New Reno, I could only guess that you might have somehow spoken to him wrongly, or what he thinks is rudely (or tried to steal something from his room ?)
I've done it on accident just by asking him the wrong questions. Hopefully you have a saved game and can try again. :|

Thanks for you answer. No save before the moment. arf.

Although, it is still not logical that Mason speak to you and let you in if Salvatore doesn't want to see you again....

no?

@tom-le-termite,

how have you complete the quest, have you been to the golgotha with Floydd and making him digging the hole then kill him or not?

When talking to Salvatore Boss, have you any dialog option or does he call guard asa you talk to him?

Yes, I went to Golgotha, killed Floydd, got the money, come back to salvatore to complete the quest, and

"!! Gards!! Gards!!"

and the gards come, do nothing. I talk to mason, and we start the discussion from scratch, just like he never saw me before. He allow me to go see Salvatore, but then he call for gards again.

even if it is a detail, I beleive the script should be modified a bit so Mason refuse completly to let you in anymore...

Hi, I am playing with the US version, and the patch and mod by Killap I downloaded 2 days ago (so the latest one I guess).

When I received the quest from Salvator, I directly went to do it. It was actually the very first thing I did in New Reno after Boxing a bit.

Interestingly, If approach Salvatore building with the suitcase for Bishop (got it in Vault city) in my items, I got attacked by everyone. I had to drop it somewhere to be able to get in.

If i'm correct, the killap mod include the patch so perhaps there is a bug with this... It's very strange what happen with the briefcase... Perhaps send your save game to killap so he can take a look.

Well, Actually, this is a good excuse to reinstall everything and start the game from scratch (my character sucked a bit :lol: )...

I also have a question concerning the combat: during most of the combat, I ended up having an unrealistic series of "no domage"... The funny part is when I got 3 times in a row" Critical hit in the head for no domage". :shock:

It was quite frustrating to not kill that damn rat with 120% in guns. :lol:

Good idea :P

Have the same, depend of the armor, threshold, resist, distance, etc.
-- Happen in the MegaMod and normal version too anyway.

Here too there is a number of variable wich do some weird thing in the game :wink:

@tom-le-termite,

Combat problems are most likely due to Glovz ammo mod. Go to the ddraw or sfall.ini and turn it off. Glovz is aware of what it does and is working on it. I'm sure there will be a better version, but I'll keep it off until then.

Touquet is right, you shouldn't install the patch before RP. The Restoration Project includes the patch. Still, many people have done the installation that way (in contradiction to the instructions) and I think your're the first to have this problem or report it. Maybe because everyone has always done SOMETHING else in New Reno before going right to Salvatore.

Maybe boxing has something to do with it. That is doing something in New Reno, but I have no idea what effects it has. We should check Per's guide and see what can influence talking to Salvatore, but you're right -

If Salvatore is mad at you then Mason should act like it.

I've an odd question, would anyone know why either the Restoration Project or the Megamod might kill the Aimed Shot function on most weapons?

Assuming every "Kinetic" weapon and alternative energy weapon "Laser,Plasma" can use Aimed Shots.

Lemmi guess, Fast Shot has some description that mentions something about note having the time enough to pop off an aimed shot?

Alright guys, i just started Fallout 2 with the latest restoration patch applied, and got a problem with the rat quest given to you in Klamath.

Maybe i´m dumb or smth. but ... WHERE THE HELL IS THE RAT GOD HIDING? I know its said the fucker lives in a cave underneath trapper town, but where is that cave? :\

I unlocked this door with the key given by the trapper, and killed the small rats in this house.

How do i get to the other side of that fence?

I made my way through the damn shitty maze house to the far north, but there is just nothing.

A quick help to lead me on the right path would be much apprechiated, as i seeked the board but to no avail. :( I´m sure that i overlook smth. here.

I also had a problem in New Reno, collecting the tribute from the Corsican Brothers, as they dont talk to you when you are a slaver. I dont know if this is related to the Mod Pack or also happened in the original game.

@Stoney, put the bong down a sec, mmkay? This doesn't belong in an RP thread, but I'll answer since you're an obvious noob that has never even played the original game before, and word of Killap's Restoration Project is bringing new players from somewhere. (which is cool)

Even the slightest bit of Googling would have answered your stupid question. But, if you want to go to all of the trouble to find NMA forums and sign up to post in this thread, then you get this link -

http://user.tninet.se/~jyg699a/fallout.html Otherwise known as Per's Ultimate Guide, and something you should well have found before coming here.
