Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

I can't get the Brahmin's quest to finish. I've collected scorpion's claws and examined the Denton's Brahmin. What else should I do?

Doesn't really work. Maybe I messed something because I agreed to scare the Torr away for Dantons but then didn't.

Killap - Awesome mod. Love it.

Downloaded the latest version and manual installed all the latest fixes.

Having issues with the primitive village well quest. I am able to attach the rope, but once I aquire the bucket, I am unable to do anything with it. I have tried to use it from the bag, from my hand and even attempting a repair check. I've tried initiating the quest by talking with the guy standing next to the well, and also by just looking at the well to see its broken without speaking with the villager.

No dice.

I saw this had been an issue in the past that has apparently been resolved. Perhaps I am missing something.

That's strange since I really thought I fixed this problem. Please upload/e-mail me a save game so I can test this for myself.

Does he have the ammo for it?

Does he have two or more crippled arms?

How are his combat settings?

I wonder on the Abbey, it seems very incomplete right now:
*you can examine the pump and get that quest before everything else which seems to make the leader forget about the first quest.
*the places to leave are in odd places
*the general shop is nowhere to be seen.

A particular problem here is something I wonder if there's a solution for- fighting the deathclaw I shot him in the eye and blinded him, he then wondered off and I left him whilst I dealt with scorpions.
HOwever, the death claw seems to have walked past the leaving zone and into the walls- its currently stuck in the walls and there's no way for me to get to it and kill it.
Help?

What is the "first quest" The one regarding the beast in the basement? None of these quests have to be done in any order.

There is one. As soon as you arrive at the Abbey, look a little to the left. You haven't entered every building yet.

I will address this. For the time being, there is the chance he will wander back and you can kill him.

i'm having trouble too. i read the link, and i can't even confront the duntons about scaring torr, or the brands on the brahmin. i can't even tell mrs. buckner about the claws, or the odd brands.

For those having trouble with the brahmin rustling quest, do you have the quest in your pipboy yet? You do have to actually get the quest before showing evidence. Talk with the Buckner daughter regarding town news.

yeah, the quest is in my pipboy, and after doing everything i can ( getting the claws, and examining the brahmin), while trying to talk to mrs. buckner about the missing brahmin, all i can say is " uh...nevermind"

The water pump, if you go to the pump in between the monster in the cellar quest then the head starts speaking about the pump instead.
You also get the pump quest purely by examining it yourself and everyone acts as if you were told to go fix it.

What do you mean by this?
Like the deathclaw being able to go through the exit zone to get around it, they're not actually at the ends of the map but in the middle.

Redding seems to be bugged.
I've killed all the things in the mine (can't spell that word) but its not recognising me as having done so.
Also I didn't give Fanny the money but she's vanished and the pub owner had a go at me for making her overdose.
Is there any sort of debug cheat so I can quick and easy fix the first for myself?

This is probably the case. You can still complete the monster quest though. I'll see if I can clean this up though.

Really? I'm pretty certain you only get the quest by speaking with the mechanic and actually offering to help. Only then can you work on the water pump.

I see what you mean. I will be cleaning this up for 1.3.

I'm not sure about this. You are running version 1.2 of the Restoration Project, yes?

Can you provide a save game?

@ kaze,
If you rest until you are healed, then go down to the mine map straight under the Kokoweef Mine, the dead bodies will disappear and the "clear the mine" quest will get completed.

Did you by chance get an instant kill critical on that map?

@ killap,
I'm thinking there may be a problem with instant kill criticals on quest critters, they don't seem to count as dead until their bodies are removed. At least that's the impression I've got from reading problem reports, and kaze's save can possibly support that theory.

I think I got some yeah
Would that mess it up?
Resting doesn't seem to help.

The Fanny thing is the main weirdness but of course I don't care about that (doesn't affect the game in anyway and it costs me nothing), its just something to be looked at for future fixes.

Are you sure? Go to the Kokoweef Mine, rest until party is healed, walk down through the well to the map just under, dead bodies disappear, quest done. That works for me.

If that doesn't work for you I guess your game is fucked somehow.
The Fanny thing sounds weird, maybe killap can help there.

Ah!
OK I'm stupid.
I rested for ages then went back down in the mine- previously I was just resting and talking to the mayor without checking to make sure all was gone.
Thanks.

Did a search and couldn't find anything, so if this has been up previously, forgive me.

What I want to know is what exactly is supposed to *happen* when you go to the Primitive Tribe. Was I supposed to talk to someone or do something specific? 'Cause the only person who offers me a quest is the guy who wants me to find the knives and spears for him. Everyone else just has 1 or 2 lines of dialogue that doesn't lead to anything. The guy in front of the tent tells me to go away and the same thing goes for the guy at the well and the guard at the cave. The healer isn't exactly the most talkative person either. So, what's the deal?
