Fallout 3: Are you getting it?

I will not buy this game new.

And if you can't judge a game by it's previews then what are they for?

ill get it right away.

i do not expect it to be like the original titles.
there are however some thing i do hope for:

- funny comments when targeting the groin
- somewhat original musical theme
- a role playing game without dwarfs, elves, virtuous heroes
(which is the reason why i got fallout in the first place)

if above that, it makes me want to hang in the game (in the original games i stopped and started hanging around the hub, trading & making money just because I liked that) the game actually being more than mass effect or some other rpg recently released.....
then it is more than i can expect of a sequel of fallout, since that much time has passed.

You're kidding, right? There will be no groin shots, or any comments on critical hits.

Didn't follow the news much, did you?

- funny comments when targeting the groin

No groin targeting.

- somewhat original musical theme

Inon Zur.

Can't say anything about dwarves or elves yet, but you've got the Brotherhood being the saviors of the wasteland now and radiation shooting ghouls.

Uhm... sorry to disappoint you?

Fallout 3 Collecter's Edition

I wasn't planning on it, but yesterday in a moment of total impulsiveness, I purchased the pre-order pack for the PC edition of Fallout 3 Collector's Edition.

For overseas shipment.

I love Fallout, but I was always skeptical about the adoption of the series by Bethesda.

I'll tell you how this most extraordinary event took place. Yesterday I was as usual bored out of my wits since I'm stuck for work in Denmark for two months with A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y nothing to do in this backwater black hole of a town I'm in. And after watching the E3 Trailer eight times, I went to Gamestop.com and purchased the Fallout 3 Collecter's Edition.

Now I don't know if it was the bobbly-head, the lunchbox, the artwork, or just an implemented mind-control aspect of the E3 Trailer. But I purchased it. And until today I still don't know why.

Now the reason why I'm so clueless about this purchase is the fact that my PC is barely able to run Fallout Tactics, so I'm predicting problems for the future. Anyway, perhaps after the purchase of a new PC, somewhere in the near future, it will all be worth it.

I was wondering if there were any kin souls here that have purchased or pre-ordered Fallout 3 as well, so we can bask in the un-knowing together and ''prepare for the future''.

Well spotted. :)

There is orcs on fallout 1 and 2... :d

I am not going to buy it, i think as a STALKER clear sky is better than fallout 3 (i am comparing apples to apples here).

I will buy STALKER because the first one was a good game in his genre.

My impression in the latest gameplay video is that there are comments displayed in the upper left. Not sure if it's just a description or a funny comment though.

From what I've seen it's just "Raider Torso Crippled", not "Raider is hit in the elbow for 14 points of damage, penguins are everywhere".

Yes, i will be getting it. I started building a new computer in my head the millisecond I heard there was going to be another Fallout (thought it was going to be only on pc).

Yes, I will buy it. Just the normal edition though.

Now, I don't have much hope for this game, but I think that with HEAVY modding from the fallout community, we might be able to make a DECENT game. Sure, lore will still suck, but atleast there won't be any teddybear-guns, eh? Eh?!

Anyways, there are some good (VERY FEW) and a lot of bad sides to this game.

If nothing else, I'm buying to play through it, point at everyone else who thought it was gonna be awesome and yell "SEE?! SEE?! I TOLD YOU IT WAS GONNA SUCK!"

Rot in hell Bethesda, I'll never forgive you for the teddybear-gun!

(And don't tell me it was fallout humor, a teddybear-gun is just retarded ((no offense to "retarded" people)))

I like that gun actually, have some ideas what I'll be doing with it :p

Though the fatman is where it's at. Wonder how quickly I'll die if I use it indoors :D

I pre-ordered it. I can't help to buy this game because I am just so damn curious as to if it will be a good Fallout game. I need to play it through myself and tell everyone about the horror or joy I experience from it.

I also rationalize that since I borrowed morrowind and oblivion from friends, this would be my actual first bethesda purchase and probably last for that matter.

Also I feel really guilty about giving my money to this company for a game that is on the line between good and bad. I like to invest in games that I know will be good.

I think I buy the Game. I am not sure which version. I have a PS3 and an old computer. I like to buy it for computer, because of the possibility of fan mods, but I'm not shure if it runs on my old system. :(
