Fallout 4 announced with official trailer

You missed the point by a country mile. My point is that judging the character of a person based on the fact that you were disappointed with the videogame they've produced is kinda dumb.

You ever met someone and you just don't like them? .....Maybe it's the way they look or the things they say?
Well every time I see Todd or Pete and their fucking stupid smirks ....Makes me want to say "hello" to them with a Ball Bat to the face.
Not only that but they both talk like Assholes

And if you're a masochist wanting to blow them it's cool.

Well honestly, I am not excited at all for this. More of Fallout 3 but now mixed with all these pretty colors which doesn't fit in with any of the Fallout games. Especially with the first 2 games.

I like Fallout 3 and all, but why does Bethesda always try to move away from what makes Fallout... Fallout? Its to attract players that never played Fallout I am sure. But it alienates us older players, unlike Fallout New Vegas which welcomed us back.

I guess they took the hint from modding community, because quite a lot of NV mods do that

Doesn't look so cute.
But I don't mind the colors in F4 trailer, I even like them in most parts

btw when does the E3 begin?

Oh man that's really soon. I only want to watch to see how the stat and skill systems are going to work in it. I'm paranoid they're going to turn it into Skyrim With Guns.

So Dishonored 2 is going to happen then, probably Doom 4 and obviously Fallout 4.
Too bad the conference starts around 4AM around here, so I'm not going to watch it live.

How is it hyperbolic to just point out from the trailer alone I can see there is little difference between Fallout 3 and 4?

You said there is no difference, that playing Fallout 3 would be the same as Fallout 4; the experience would literally be the same. With very little info released about the actual game, aside from a short trailer with no gameplay, I don't see how that statement is correct. Sounds like hyperbole to me. I'm not a fan of defending Bethesda, but in this case I think it's warranted. Saying there will be no difference between Fallout 3 and 4 is silly. At the least we can expect some changes, whether good or bad.

Like I said. I hope it will be different. I want it to be. But from Bethesda's current track record I have little hope and from the trailer little reason to think otherwise. I will revise my opinion in the following months as more content is released. But right now it looks the same. Sure they'll be differences. The shooting mechanics will probably be better. The world and graphics more well-designed maybe. But the story and actual world-building? Right now, it still looks like a theme park. Maybe that's hyperbolic, but whatever. I'm tired of Bethesda's shtick and it doesn't look like they're changing that any time soon.

I don't understand the "consumer" sometimes. They say they want a new Fallout. They're given Fallout New Vegas and most Fallout 3 fans hate it because "it's the wrong kind of Fallout", so ultimately what they're saying is that they just want the same game as Fallout 3. More urban environment. More supermutants/BoS/Enclave/Dogmeat, more wacky weapons and more nuclear explosions (and more bland storytelling/characters etc.). Personally I can't understand this. But I guess there's a big market for this so that's what we'll continue to get.

Yeah, that's what is worrying me too. They have an history of "streamlining" (cough) things with every new game but given that they have already removed Traits, reduced the number of skills, lowered stat requirements for perks (which were now given every level), reduced the number of things your SPECIAL stats influence and put skill/stat booster everywhere I'm afraid of what they'll do this time.

reduced the number of skills
That was good, though.

Given that "Hardcore mode" in New Vegas is quite popular, maybe they will do the same to Fallout 4 with more oldschool fans-friendly RPG systems?

(let the man dream)

I still have no clue why they didn't allow player to get Fawkes to go in there, since they can still send that BoS chick to do it

And if Beth is worried about the more casual gamers not liking it, make it optional like in NV. That way everyone wins. Or is the ego of your average F3 superfan so fragile, that he doesn't like the idea of other people actually preferring and enjoying a slightly higher level of challenge than he does. It's like how some modern games don't have an Easy setting, just Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Impossible, so as not to offend any player's sensibilities. Every gamer is above average!

I agree actually, but only because there were a few useless skills in FO1-2. But I have the feeling they would have reduced them anyway even if that hadn't been the case.

Betheda wanted to praise the player for his sacrifice or chastise him because he allowed a "true hero" to die in his place (*rolleyes*). Allowing Fawkes (or companions like Charon) to activate the purifier would have gone against this incredibly dramatic ending.

And people criticise New Vegas for ending the game after the Battle of Hoover Dam, even though the game gives you a very clear warning that to initiate the battle is to end the whole game. But they apparently have no problem with PAYING for the ending of Fallout 3 with Broken Steel DLC.
