Fallout 4 announced with official trailer

Both Tim's Fallout 3 and Todd's Fallout 3 use the same Game engine.

None of the original TES creators work on TES = no Julian Lefay
None of the original Fallout creators work on Fallout = no Tim Cain

Both Games dumbed down and destroyed. by the Same Janitor Master Todd Howard AaRPG Legend

Tim Cain has mentioned on his Facebook that he's been writing a Sequel for Fallout .......

those photos I posted of Tim in Fallout gear..... well he actually had to purchase those from the Bethesda store..
Even the Creator of his own world has to buy.

Leonard Boyarsky "Even though I want and will probably buy all of them, I can't in good conscience actually 'like' them"
Timothy Cain "Don't give into the dark side"
Leonard Boyarsky "I forgot the happy face so everyone would know I was joking on my first post, instead of thinking that I walk around muttering to myself all day, shouting at the damn kids and their new fangled Fallout games"
Leonard Boyarsky "Cuz I don't do that, ever. Really"

TMNT and Transformers are ruined.

I don't know what is holding up Tim Cain, Fargo, Leonard Boyarsky, Chris Avellone, Mark Morgan and Feargus from creating a brand new Post Apoc/Sci-fi IP?

They all know Fallout died when Bethesda bought it, why not let them ruin the Franchise and create something new? It's not like they all forgot how to write, compose, design, program, produce.

And why not under the Van Buren banner? The trademark was bought, and while Bethesda owns Fallout, they don't own the soul of the game - which I think would be self evident enough to drive sales/support.

If Beth let them make another Fallout game after Fallout 4 is out, I'd rather have another Fallout game. By the way, Chris has left Obsidian recently.

If anyone asks me if they should buy and play the new Fallout 4 I'll tell them, just play Fallout 3. You can buy it for pennies now and you will literally get the exact same experience.

Without even playing the game, before I'd even seen the trailer I knew Fallout 4 was just gonna be a "better looking" Fallout 3.

This is one of the few times I'll actually wish I could be proven wrong. But I know I won't be.

Hyperbole police.

We've received complaints that you have greatly exaggerated something to make a point. I'm going to have to write you up for this one.

Fill your day with some Words of Wisdom.

Todd Howard said that the secret to making games such as Skyrim is to approach it with discipline.

Todd Howard "I wish I could give you real, true insight into what we put into our games, and this is not me just trying to sell you, or smooth you over, because I’m Okay, really, if you don’t love what we do,"
"We’re fans; we’re passionate about what we do. We go on a crusade to make the best game we can. We make the game we would run to the store and buy, we argue, we debate, we scream, we stay up all night, we clap and cheer the highs and curse the lows. One day we’ll find a way to make you a fly on the wall in one of our design meetings – they’re pretty damn inspiring."

"Hey, it's Fallout, let's get some nuclear explosions on the screen." ~ Todd Howard

Why don't you wait until we know more about the game and try it for yourself before labeling it as a bad game just because everyone else says so?

I am confused. You know at least half of these guys recently released Wasteland 2, right? And are currently working on multiple other RPGs? I think they're too busy to start yet another post-apocalyptic IP. Nor do they need to.

Never said it was gonna be bad. Just said it's gonna be exactly the same as Fallout 3.

How is it hyperbolic to just point out from the trailer alone I can see there is little difference between Fallout 3 and 4? You have a dog. You wear a vaultsuit and visuals show someone from first person perspective walking out of a vault. You're in a city/wasteland environment. There is BOS power armour the same as was used in 3. At some point you board a vertibird. There are super mutants and ghouls.

Like I said, I'd like to be disappointed, and I'll check out the gameplay footage etc to confirm otherwise, but right now, it all looks the same.

You said there is no difference, that playing Fallout 3 would be the same as Fallout 4; the experience would literally be the same. With very little info released about the actual game, aside from a short trailer with no gameplay, I don't see how that statement is correct. Sounds like hyperbole to me. I'm not a fan of defending Bethesda, but in this case I think it's warranted. Saying there will be no difference between Fallout 3 and 4 is silly. At the least we can expect some changes, whether good or bad.

Fallout 3 Retards be like fallout?? Never heard of it...but it's my most favorite game Evar

Fallout 3 fan/raging retard "Who cares about graphics it's all about the game play and story"
Fallout 3 fan/raging retard "Fallout 1/2 suck ass the boring story, shitty combat and old shitty 2d pixely graphics"
Fallout 3 fan/raging retard "Fallout 3 is my favorite game Evar, Fuck your mother..kill urself"

"SACRIFICE GRAPHICS FOR GAME PLAY" "SACRIFICE GRAPHICS FOR GAME PLAY" "SACRIFICE GRAPHICS FOR GAME PLAY" "SACRIFICE GRAPHICS FOR GAME PLAY" "SACRIFICE GRAPHICS FOR GAME PLAY" "SACRIFICE GRAPHICS FOR GAME PLAY" "SACRIFICE GRAPHICS FOR GAME PLAY"
That Fatass in the video almost had a stroke, slobbering on himself like a true Fallout 3 Retard.

Fallout 3 Retards always bitching about waiting on Fallout 4 game "forever" these entitled fuckers.
I waited from 1998 till 2011 to get a real Fallout 3 ..er i mean Fallout NV.
Yeah I waited like 12 years and only got a shitty Bethesda game.
I'm still waiting for Baldur's Gate 3

well to be fair his concerns that he might not be around for the release of Fallout 4 are justified.

It's a fake internet personality that he wheels out for a laugh every now and then. Look at some of his other videos; he does speak like a normal human being.

In case any of you forgot Fallout E3 2007

Pete Hines: So the set-up for Fallout is that basically the world as we know it splits off from our current timeline after World War II and diverges on a different timeline and the future that they go on is basically that whole kind of ‘Leave It To Beaver’ '50s idea of ‘tomorrow-land’ – so what they thought the future was going to be like back then, with robot-maids and rocket-cars and jetpacks and laser rifles and so on [doesn't go away]. So that 40’s and 50’s stuff doesn’t go away. It just continues on through their history. Until the bombs fall in 2077. So it's really just a tomorrow-land version of the 50s that’s all blown to hell!

Pete Hines: I certainly think that storytelling in general is one of the areas where our industry has the most room for improvement. It is certainly something that we are keenly aware of in Fallout and something we are trying to spend more time on. When you do a game as big as Oblivion – with literally thousands of characters – it is really tough to make every single one of those memorable and special and give them a lot of depth. Whereas, in Fallout, it’s a much smaller scope.

Pete Hines: Probably about the same size team we had working on Oblivion. We have a group of designers who are focused entirely on quests and dialogue. Then we have a group of designers who are focused on levels and – for lack of a better word – ‘dungeons’ and that sort of thing.

Now remember this ASSHOLE said Leave it to Beaver, Dungeons and Perpetual 1950's
A lot of us here were – are - big fans of Fallout

Todd Howard on Fallout 3

  • Fallout 1 and 2 both contained a lot of humor... but will Fallout 3 have any? Yes. Although they won't be breaking the fourth wall like the other games did.
  • What's the exploding pants achievement? You can sneak up to unsuspecting mutants and drop a grenade in their pants. Why isn't this in other games?
How quickly did Bethesda decide to use the Oblivion engine? "Instantly." To Bethesda, this is a great tool for building really huge games both now and in the future.
They considered doing dual-wielding, but the trouble is that you have to then add two animations, one for each weapon. It might make an appearance in their next game.
Will this game appease Oblivion fans? "If they're mainly into swords and elves, I don't think they'll like it." YEAH UMM ITS FALLOUT//

I remember reading this article in CD-Action back in 2007 (I've still got it, it was my first contact with F3) and being angry and feeling helpless and disappointed.
Good, old times.

Now, F4 announcement seems to be less worrying. Maybe because now I'm used to the fact that Fallout is first-person real time shooter and care more about writing and role-playing... and Obsidian showed us that the new formula can be as good as the classics

I don't know Hines personally, but I imagine that, if he's indeed an asshole, it has little to do with Bethesda's subpar treatment of the Fallout setting and tone.
