Fallout 4 gameplay videos leaked, Bethesda starts taking them down

Why does the Assaultron have tits and smooth thighs?

My guess is that this is potentially inspired by "Robert House has a thing for robot girls" from New Vegas.

Maybe, but if that's the case, why would he have a Securitron army in New Vegas when he could have had a concubine of Assaultrons instead?

Probably because New Vegas was made first and couldn't use the assets for Fallout 4? Thought in universe, it could be because he wasn't sure his uploaded robot ladies would survive the transfer to the assaultrons, as there's necessarily less storage in the assaultron (because storage is not efficient in use of space in the Fallout universe, c.f. all the reel-to-reel tapes computers use) so wanted to run more tests or build a better assaultron based on the technology used in developing the platinum chip, but the war happened at an inconvenient time for Robert House.

But "I want a robot in a sexy lady chassis" is totally in character for Robert House.

Yeah I still wanna bitch about them so let's talk about the laser beam they're firing from their eyes.
It is a continuous energy beam right? And it has the red characteristic of a Fallout Laser, right?
So if a laser beam hits something instantly and does 20 damage would continuous damage over a couple of seconds for like 2000 damage?
If it ain't laser, what it is, and why is it so weak?

House was obviously one of those Robo Sexuals, they don't care about curvy bodies but raher the harsh frame of a Protectron.

I remember hearing something a loooong time ago and I'm unsure if it is true; When a studio wants to patch a game on the consoles don't they have to pay money to Microsoft/Sony for them to host the patch to continuously upload it to players? Cause if that is the case then mods for the consoles (which they want to bring) would need to go through Sony/Microsoft right? That most certainly means there will be some kind of payment wall for console users at the very least.

Someone posted some loading screen stills on reddit: http://imgur.com/gallery/Bvox7/new

[edit]

Oh! I get it!
Rule 34.

I don't know what to say other than "Fellow Fallout fans who enjoy FO1, FO2, and perhaps FNV, ignore everything that is depicted in Fallout 4, none of it is canon despite what Emil, Todd, and Pete tell what is and what isn't. It is clear that they and the rest of the development team make shit up as they go along."

Considering how much lore Bethesda has mutilated with Fallout 3 and with what we've seen of Fallout 4 I think that the only sane thing to do if you want lore consistency would be to write both of them off as non-canon and ignore them completely. That's my stance on it. They can wave a piece of paper that says "Fallout license" that they've wiped their ass with all they want to, doesn't mean they get to decide what lore is canon and what isn't canon if they are too fucking incompetent to care for the lore.

I mean, does anyone here at this point consider Fallout 4 canon-worth? At all? And what about Fallout 3? It's not like it'd be a big loss to write that one off as being non-canon so does anyone consider that game canon?
Of course, since the game takes place on the other coast of the country.

Yeah but considering it canon means accepting the retcons of the lore in regard to ghouls, FEV, huge number of the Enclave surviving and vault experiments just to name a few things.

You just stated Bethesda "mutilated" the lore of Fallout, following with:
They can wave a piece of paper that says "Fallout license" that they've wiped their ass with all they want to, doesn't mean they get to decide what lore is canon and what isn't canon if they are too fucking incompetent to care for the lore.

It is clear Bethesda does not care about the fallout series as much as they would have people believe, so it is perfectly reasonable and logical disregarding anything that Bethesda touch as "non-canon", regardless of whether or not they own the IP.

You keep saying the lasers weak, but during the first stream, the guy got killed by it like once or twice, maybe its a difficulty thing or level thing?

I can understand your feelings on this, and you are free to consider it non-canon. But the fact is, unless someone else buys the rights and declares 3 and 4 non-canon, it kind of is. That being said, i've never cared much for the whole Canon Non-canon arguments, everyone has their own headcanon anyways. The lack of respect Bethesda shows towards it is frustrating to say the least though.

I hear they're swinging the banhammers fast and furious over at Twitch. Meh - for every streamer they shut down, 10 more pop up to fill the hole.

I never saw that, I've seen the laser eye attack thingie used 2 times with different players and neither time did it cause much harm. Maybe they had a lot of laser resistance? Are resistances back?

I'm mostly just curious how others feel about it around here. Mostly because I want to hear how someone who will consider them canon makes sense of the lore that contradicts itself.

Btw., is it just me or do the weapons mostly sound really weak?
They sound fine to me, of course any weapon sounds are better than the pap, pap! Sounds from fallout 3.

That's what I mean, at least from a distance they sound exactly like that.
Probably just faded due to distance then, they sound find close up.

Good. I was worried for a second and couldn't be arsed to look up other videos.
