Fallout 4 Launch Trailer

It was glitchy on release

Ah, yeah I had almost forgotten about that mess.

New Vegas runs fine now, more or less, but I do remember the bugs and glitches being a pain in the ass when I originally picked it up.

More so than the usual Beth offering.

That's what happens if you, I assume, overestimate what a smaller team can do with 18 months. If Beth gave them like an additional 10 months they would fix all the stuff and also finish some of the cut content too. If only...

Let's hope Bethesda gives Obsidian more time with their next Fallout game.

Despite all my cursing and complaints, I was compelled to soldier on because of the well written story, characters, and factions with their dynamic relationship.

Don't think I would've endured such for a shallower gaming experience a la Fallout 3 or Skyrim.

Yeah well to be honest Obsidian doing another Fallout spin-off does seem unlikely with Obsidian doing well with the projects they want to do and focus on rather than doing something for Bethesda for example. There's always a chance though. News of it shouldn't really take too long to come out. Probably around next year.

Avellone left Obsidian too and didn't someone else important to Fallout as well? It likely wouldn't be fully the same. Bethesda should hire Avellone.

Or, let's hope that bethesda just leaves this skeleton in their closet, no point in trying resurrect a bunch of bones.

What do you mean?

It's better that bethesda would just continue to branch out this franchise by them self from now own, instead of giving their engine and tools to a developer that tries to strap on another kind of game on it and nothing good comes out of it. If you're making a hiking simulator you should make one, if you're making a legendary rpg, you should not use hiking equipment, or else we are left somewhere in no mans land, with a confused product that doesn't really know what it is.

Didn't Feargus Urquhuart say that they would be all for another Fallout title? Fallout is the baby of a lot of the big heads and founders of Obsidian (I mean Tim Cainn is now working with Obsidian) so I don't doubt they would jump to the opportunity. The deciding factor here is Bethesda, and they have been doing a habit of literaly ignoring everything New Vegas in all their recent marketing. So I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I read an article about PoE not doing very good or the author of the article tried to make it sound bad. But I also read the sequel for it will come in the next couple of years.

I dont know which one is true but I would like to see them do another Fallout game after 4, maybe this time Bethesda will be more forgiving and give them more time.

There are multiple interviews of recent times where developers at Obsidian tell that they would love to make another Fallout.

For Zenimax it is a no brainer. They already give Bethesda game studios the privilige to work with just one team
and take their time. Letting the Falloit franchise laying on a shelf for the next 8 years is too much. They basically would have to hate money.
