Fallout 4 - Wasteland Workshop Official Trailer

Kinda offtopic but does Fallout 4 run like shit for everyone else too?
I mean, my computer is reasonably good. Ain't top of the line but it ain't years old and outdated either.
And I can run a lot of other games on high settings with constant smooth framerate.
But Fallout 4? I had to turn down pretty much everything and even now in the city of Boston the framerate goes to shit sometimes.

And has it gotten buggier?
Textures sometimes load only when I'm a few feet away from it, otherwise it is black or non-existing (like all female hair once when I played, they stopped rendering at like 2 meters away). I've also had a crash, I've had AID items not working properly, I've had elevators that took minutes to load up the next interior cell. I had an NPC in Diamond City zoom across the center of it within a second and knock over any items in his path. It just seems like it has gotten way buggier than it was last time I played.

I ran TW3 on the highest settings at 1080p 60fps, FO4 I got random FPS drops all over the place some down to 20. To BGS' credit though FO4 is probably the most stable game over all they ever put out.

For me it was stable until versions 1.3/1.4 came out, after that it's crashing from time to time, and framerate jumps from 25 to 60 fps.. But I did not played it in weeks to see how it is now, and I do not plan to anytime soon...

I just had this happen to me last night. One split second the NPC's seated, easting noodles; and zip! off flying across the floor, flinging aside a bowl, and stopped near a wall to read a newspaper. I literally had to do a double take of what I just saw. It was comically funny, but also dishearteningly sad in how buggy the game had just gotten.

gotta go fast

It's not just that though, Bethesda obviously want to change their business plan and, act like your usual triple A publisher. Fallout 4 is the closest thing to CoD they've ever made, next TES will be further streamlined and, then come the yearly releases; they can't allow Obsidian to threaten the integrity of their business plan by pumping out games that don't conform to their "easy to consume" standard. (Unfounded speculation)

In all honesty, annual releases would be the worst thing for this series.
The long five year wait between New Vegas and Four was somewhat of a smart move.
It allowed hype to be built up by itself. In fact, while the game was pretty well advertised, it was only really shown at E3 and then a few trailers released afterwards. The rest was hype being built among the fanbase.

Considering there was a group in the fanbase that enjoyed 3 over NV, that group alone built up most of the hype. In fact, it was kind of sad to see that at the midnight release for 4, a couple people overlooked New Vegas, which is a shame.
New Vegas was a rare example of a game living up to the hype.

While it would be a smart move both business wise and even for the fanbase to allow Obsidian another shot at the IP, people will say how "New Vegas 2 (I'm just using this as an example) is better than Fallout 4" and that's something Bethesda don't want.

Now, Bethesda could negate all of this and actually put good writing in their game.
Considering their fanbase believe anything that Todd touches turns to gold, the Bethesda fans will like it, the people here may gain more of a respect for the company, Bethesda gets more money and everyone is happy.
Then maybe allowing Obsidian another chance will give way to a bit more competition in the IP.

The comparisons gets a bit mixed, all of a sudden every game is a masterpiece.

But sadly, as I've said before, Bethesda is run by idiots. They really need a change of management but they won't, they make too much money.

Well, all we can really do is sit back and watch what happens.

I wouldn't say that Bethesda is run by idiots but that is a possibility. They just release terrible games. Why release good games? You might possibly get a short boost of sales but it is easier to just join everyone else in lowering bar until releasing a broken game is industry standard.

They aren't idiots. They just cater TO idiots.

to convince your follower that you make a stuff in 4 year, while actually less than 2 year is not a fool deed

Bethesda doesn't release terrible games. They release mediocre games that appeal to people with terrible taste.

I hated the word mediocre. Mediocre is supposed to mean passable. A game that is full of glitches, lacks any noteworthy reason to play it, and has no particular strengths isn't a mediocre game. A restaurant that serves bland food and every once in a while serves an undercooked meal isn't mediocre.

The game ran slightly better after I upgraded my video card but still can run like shit on a GTX 980 Ti 6GB, how is that possible? I can run Rise of the Tomb Raider with out too many performance issues at max settings but Fallout 4 just craps out in a lot of places, framerate never stays consistent.

How does the console versions of the game run? Cause I remember FO3 and FNV having some framerate issues here and there on xbox360.

Not just in the city but also in some interiors. I had my fps drop bellow 30 in some sewers and houses. I also have an i7 4790k running on turbo frequency(4.4ghz). But I haven't played Fallout 4 in two weeks now. I've been busy with Space Engineers and some other games like that. And I probably won't play it anymore till the GECK is released.

I agree 110% with the guy in the video. Bethesda isn't above anyone else and they shouldn't get a pass just because they are Bethesda lol

You're not the only one here, the PC version feels like it was build second-in-mind over the console, which is by far the dumbest shit any developer would do. Extremely, poorly unoptimized, and best part is always going into the Boston Commons or Commonwealth city ruins, as lag central hits hard. I can play Killing Floor 2 on Ultra with a bunch of lads in a HoE setting, and THAT gets pretty goddamn hectic. Fallout 4? If I so much as see 3 fucking ghouls in a shit-region of the city, my computer seems to shit itself in pure fear.

From what I recall in the tests, the Xbox and Playstation both handled the game pretty badly, with Sony's toybox having better results over Microsoft's new Ecksbawkz, which apparently, would literally drop to 0 in FPS for about a second. pretty fucking terrible.
