Fallout 76 Really Sucks. People Act Shocked.

oh shit  well, in fallout 3, a pre-war sword could do more damage than a shotgun, so no surprise

A sword would be more understandable at least. I have two and those things are wicked sharp. Then again, they're not rusty and 200 years old.

Fallout 76 was done by a very big developer, and they delivered exactly what was promised. It's just broken shit. Bethesda will now piece by piece add the essential features that should have always been in the game, each one after much demand, and each one still broken for a long time. The game's seriously dead on arrival.
I'm not sure that's really a viable option at this point. It would seem to take a lot of resources (money & time) to fix this game.

Is it worth fixing?
Do they have the budget and willingness to do so?
Will the resources they invest into fixing it return their investment?

This is a corporation, not a fan service charity. This is driven by the bottom line. Period. Amen.

When, at the end of the day, isn't this just supposed to be a way to capitalize on a Fortnite and Fallout marriage.

A pay to win platform.
A revenue stream.

If it turns a profit there, where's the incentive to fix it? I don't see it.

Think like a businessman, not a gamer, because they are the ones calling the shots here.

yup, i distinctly remember picking up that sword from a corpse of a chinese soldier so i guess it just laid in the desert for two hundred years. hours later it was piercing enclave power armor like butter. surely not what i associate with chinese quality!

I know it's just a game, but a sword should not be able to slice through power armor. In fact, it should break the sword. Unless power armor is made of flimsy soda cans.

That is why I preferred the damage threshold model in new vegas to the damage resistance model. I shouldn't be taking reduced damage when some raider zips my power armor with a 38. SMG, I should be taking ZERO damage. I'm in a god damn tank.

I should feel UNSTOPPABLE.

But according to some people, it makes you feel vulnerable at all times and that's a good thing. Even with the strongest armor in the game. :lmao:

Seriously, someone made this argument and even put it in a video.

You take damage in NV even if the DT holds the hit. Is not much, but is there.

Classic Fallouts is the ones with no damage at all. And a better model if you ask me.

So, we've got power armor made of the cheapest material available, and musical instruments that do more damage than shotguns.

Makes perfect sense.

I hated how Bethesda's Fallouts always just have ammo. Generic ammo. Oh yeah here's 9mm and that's it. Here's .38 and that's it. Shotguns? Just get some shotgun shells. No different gauges.
New Vegas made combat more fun by just having a bunch of different stuff to work with in my opinion. I had more fun with a janky FPS due to the fact I could use different weapons and ammo types.

I might need to see that.

Well yeah but I was comparing these similar First Person Shooter games to eachother instead of a RPG.

My guess is they will poke 76 with a stick every now and then to maintain some sort of illusion that it is growing and getting better. That way they can make money from people looking for new Fallout content between now and the release of Fallout 5...whenever that will be.

At this point there ought to be a bingo set on what will Bethesda screw up next.

Amazing how long this dumpster fire is going...

F76, it really is the "gift" that just keeps on giving. You really wonder if they're actively trying to get sued here, because at least in my country introducing a product and selling it with a discount price without it EVER being for sale for the regular one ANYWERE violates the law.
Not to mention how many red lines of even their blindest, die-hard fans they have crossed by now.

I just came across a reddit-thread stating the horse-armor for skyrim is less of a rip-off than the atom-shop.
